Yaw Gyamfi has 13 years working experience locally and internationally in Development Finance, microfinance operations and management. Currently, Yaw is the Executive Director of GHAMFIN. He has valuable expertise in the areas of business development, project management, Corporate & Microfinance Institutions restructuring, training and community development. Yaw was a member of the project steering committee for implementation of the Gender Responsive Skills and Community Development Project (GRSCDP - MOWAC) and Rural Agricultural Finance Program (RAFiP -M*F). He is a committee member of the National Risk Assessment on Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, Financial Literacy, Financial Inclusion Steering Committee and Member of Steering Committee of Microfinance Companies Capacity improvement Project (MICCIP).

He holds MA degree in Development Studies from the University of Sussex, Falmer, Brighton UK, as well as a BA (Hons) Arts – Economics & Geography degree from KNUST –Ghana. He has Certificates of Completion in Performance, Monitoring & Analysis of Financial Service Providers, Improving Productivity through a High Performance Culture Workshop, improving business process, Microfinance Governance, Talent Management, Social Performance Management, Social Performance tools application (Social Audit, SPI4 etc), Boulder Institute of Microfinance, Smart Campaign Assessors’ Course, Project management and Diploma: E-Commerce. He has also participated and presented in a number of international workshops in Microfinance notably SEEP Network Conferences, MasterCard Foundation Symposium on Financial Inclusion, Smart Campaign Client Protection workshops, Africa Leadership conference in Transparency Pricing, AFMIN Conference, Investor Conferences and Social Performance Taskforce Annual Meetings etc.

Refurbishes Mental Health Unit of Koforidua Regional Hospital

The Micro-Credit Association of Ghana (MCAG) has refurbished the Mental Health Unit of the Koforidua Regional Hospital and also donated various food supplies, toiletries and other items worth thousands of Ghana Cedis as its Corporate Social Responsibility to commemorate the Associations tenth Anniversary and Annual General Meeting.

MCAG SUPPORTS THE CATHOLIC SPECIAL SCHOOL IN TARKORADI

The Micro-Credit Association of Ghana (MCAG) has made several donations worth thousands of Ghana Cedis to the Catholic Special Vocational School at Fijai in the Western Region of Ghana.
They were presented to the School by the Executive Secretary of the Association Mr. Ebenezer Quartey, the Board Chairperson, Mrs. Regina Kumi and other members of the Board.
The Catholic Special Vocational School was established as a private Roman Catholic Institution on 5th April, 2003 by the late Most Rev. John Martin Darko, then Bishop of the Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese. The school which started with 12 students (5 females and 7 males) and 7 staff members, now has 100 students (57 males and 43 females) with a staff strength of 24.
