The Real Girl Era: Healing, Hustling, and Hitting 30 With VIM (Vulnerability in Maturity)
Yesterday, I celebrated the age most people bullied. 30!
A month to this day, I found myself wondering if I have done well so far... At a point, I was teary. The past three years has had me pushing myself more than I ever have in previous years.
Reading the heartfelt prayers to wild jokes from family and friends, each message reminded me of how far I’ve come and where I’m headed.
One of my closest friends said, “You’re a rare gem, and I wish you could see yourself the way we do.” That hit me right in the chest straight-up, I wont lie.
We often don’t see our own light because we’re so busy striving. But, sometimes, the love of those around us is the mirror we need to finally recognize it (our uniqueness)
Another friend called me the “crazy” one (no surprise there 😂), but this also reminded me how I’ve been there for others through thick and thin. I guess being “madt” doesn’t mean we aren't real with our people.
And then there’s the message that cracked me up the most. It came from someone I often times call mentor because that is who she is to me aside being a friend.
Her: I know I bully you a lot because you’re madt, but thank you for being my real gee.
I mean, isn’t that what true friends do?
They challenge you, love you, and help you grow in the most unexpected ways.
As I step into this new year, I’m focused on aligning my plans(although most times it feels blurry), staying grounded, and making sure that financial freedom doesn’t just stay a dream—but a reality.
I’m learning more every day through F.I.N.C about not just managing money, but also investing in people and moments that matter.
Here's to another year of growth, grace, and abundance. And of course, to building a future where we all win, financially and beyond.
