Self-Employed Books
For most self-employed people the 5th April is a key date in the year. This is when your personal tax return must be completed for. Even if you run a Ltd company with a different year end date, then you’ll still have a personal tax year that runs to the 5th April. The 6th October is then also an important date in the mortgage world, as from this date (say 6th October 2023), the 5th April 2022 personal tax return is then more than eighteen-months old and most lenders won’t use it as latest proof of income, and the 5th April 2023 will need to have been completed. If mortgages are on your radar, then it is well worth getting advice from us here, especially when self-employed.
