Our client is Auckland’s only fully integrative 24-hour veterinary clinic, combining conventional Western medicine with a broader range of integrative approaches.

Established in late 2024, the hospital is still young enough for the right person to have a real influence on its future.

The opportunity:
$110,000–$130,000 + performance bonuses.
40–45 hours per week.
Full-time preferred; part-time considered.
Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience.
Some sole charge, with veterinary support available.
On-call/after-hours work when the main vet is away – negotiable.
4 weeks’ annual leave + day in lieu for statutory holidays worked.

You’ll work across medicine, surgery and emergency cases within a 24/7 hospital that places real emphasis on thorough clinical standards, communication and patient care.

The hospital has separate cat and dog wards and waiting areas, along with a strong range of in-house equipment, including IDEXX ProCyte, Catalyst and SediVue, ultrasound, dental equipment, electrocautery, suction, Doppler/BP monitoring, syringe pumps and infrared heating cages.

There’s also specialist referral access for advanced diagnostics such as CT and MRI when required.

We’re working with a long-established, independent mixed practice on the edge of Dartmoor, where traditional values meet modern veterinary care. With beautiful countryside on the doorstep, beaches around 20 minutes away and a vibrant local town within walking distance, you can enjoy the best of rural living without feeling cut off from everything else.

The role: variety, with room to grow.
You’ll join an experienced team working across three sites, with an approximately 50/50 small and large animal split. Farm work is predominantly beef and sheep, with some farm pets and a little equine work to keep things interesting.

There’s some sole-charge small animal consulting, alongside ambulatory large animal work, so confidence and at least three years’ experience are essential; five or more would be ideal.

The practice hopes to develop this position into a partnership opportunity, potentially through a Clinical Director role. This is a chance to help shape the future, not simply fill a rota.

What’s on offer?
Salary from £50,000, depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate.
A 4.5-day working week, with a full day off in lieu for weekend work.
1:8 first-on-call rota, with a 1:8 second-on-call weekend rota.
20 days’ holiday plus eight bank holidays, with up to five additional days for long service.
RCVS, BVA, VDS and one additional professional membership paid.
At least £1,500 CPD allowance, with no cap on useful, agreed CPD.
Pension and staff discounts.

You’ll have excellent nursing and animal care support, an in-house laboratory, digital radiography and small and large animal ultrasound. The practice also proudly provides its own out-of-hours service.

The Role
