❗️New Rural Business Capital Expenditure Scheme now open for applications ❗️
A new grant scheme, run by the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, is now available for rural businesses across Cumbria, offering capital grants in the range of £1,000 to £49,999, with an average anticipated claim of £15,000.
The scheme supports growth and investment projects, including new equipment, premises improvements, innovation, diversification, and job creation or safeguarding. It is designed to help rural businesses take the next step, whether that’s expanding, modernising, or exploring new opportunities.
With only 65 grants available, applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible for consideration.
Jason Spires, our Accountancy & Audit Partner, welcomes the scheme, saying,
"This is a fantastic opportunity for growing businesses to claim some much-needed support. The grants are discretionary and competitive, therefore early submissions are advised, with the deadline for first panel consideration being 12 noon on Monday, 22nd June 2026."
