We’re six months into the financial year - have you checked how your business is doing?

Late payments can make it difficult for business owners to manage cash flow, pay suppliers, cover wages or invest back into their business.

The Government introduced measures to tackle late payments back in May, but for business owners, managing cash flow can still be a day-to-day challenge.

Having clear payment terms, keeping on top of outstanding invoices, and regularly reviewing your cash flow can all help, giving you time to focus on growing your business.

If you're constantly waiting for customers to pay, it may be time to take a closer look at your payment contracts and processes.

⚠️ Have you received a letter from HMRC this summer? Don't ignore it. ⚠️

HMRC is currently sending Simple Assessment letters this summer to some people who have tax to pay on income that hasn't already been collected through PAYE or Self Assessment.

If you receive one, the letter will explain how much you owe and when you need to pay it.

It is important to check the information carefully and make sure you understand what's being asked of you.

We had a fantastic time attending Gosforth Show last Saturday.

This year was particularly special, as the show celebrated its 150th anniversary, and we're proud to have attended for well over 20 years!

As always, it was great to spend the day catching up with existing and new clients, friends and other local businesses, while celebrating Cumbria's local agricultural community.

Congratulations to Johnnie, Julia, and the whole committee for putting on such a stellar event; it seemed the thousands who attended enjoyed it too!
