Our regulator, The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has recently issued guidance to all UK insurance providers about temporary measures to help insurance customers who may be suffering financial difficulties as a result of coronavirus.

We would like to confirm the following –

• Our office remains open for business as usual and any posted documentation is still being received and posted daily. Our current preferred method of payment is via BACS or bank transfer, however all cheques posted and received are still being manually banked daily and all paper correspondence received is being distributed to the relevant staff on a daily basis. Due to coronavirus, the majority of our staff are working remotely, but are still available to speak to any customer or supplier as usual and during normal business hours, weekdays 9am-5pm.

• Should any client or customer have any queries or concerns about making payments, temporary amendments, cancellation, reductions or changes to their insurance cover or want help and advice in making a claim during this period, please contact their account manager in the first instance, or email [email protected]. We are here to help.

This guidance builds on Principle 6 which requires a firm to pay due regard to the interests of its customers and treat them fairly, and ICOBS 2.5.-1R which requires a firm to act honestly, fairly and professionally in accordance with the best interests of its customer. Massive thanks to everyone who took part in the walk on Friday and to all who kindly sponsored the event!

Some of us found it harder than others but the main thing is we all got around the lake in one piece. We were helped along by a few supporters and the beautiful sunshine.

As of today we have raised £1,353!

Our intrepid team of 3-legged walkers will this afternoon attempt to travel 4.5 miles around Virginia Waters tied in pairs, whilst trying not to fall in to the water, break any bones or have an argument which probably goes something like “left leg. No, left. No, the other left”.

As most years, the summer fundraiser is our major event and we are hoping to raise some much needed funds for local homeless people and families in need.

Members of BJP Insurance Brokers and Focus are taking on a 3 legged walk as our annual summer fundraiser. We have 6 pairs taking on this challenge where we intend on walking 4.5 miles whilst tied together around Virginia Waters. Our pairs are Fiona Cameron/Sophie Nash, Alleyah Whitaker/Fiona Wheeler...
