🚗 MYTH vs TRUTH 🚗

❌ Myth:
“I’ve got fully comp insurance, so I can drive any vehicle.”

✅ Truth:
• “Driving Other Cars” means other CARS — not vans, pickups, or commercial vehicles.
• This benefit is usually only available on PRIVATE CAR policies, not commercial vehicle policies. Even if your van or pickup is for social and domestic use only, this cover normally does not apply.
• The “Driving Other Cars” extension applies to the POLICYHOLDER ONLY — named drivers are not covered.
• You cannot pay extra to add this benefit if your insurer does not offer it.
• Cover while driving another car is THIRD PARTY ONLY.
• “Driving Other Cars” is intended for EMERGENCY use, not regular driving.
• The vehicle being driven MUST already be insured for the cover to be valid.
• Drivers UNDER 25 are commonly excluded from this benefit.
• Certain occupations may also be excluded, such as mechanics or motor trade workers.

✅ The safest option?

Add any regular drivers directly onto the vehicle’s own insurance policy.
