Oakes Insure was created from the need to have an insurance broker who could not only provide a wide range of products at a reasonable premium from a variety of Insurers but by also outsourcing the compliance, accounts and admin out which means that the focus remains on the client. After working within the Insurance industry for 20 years and learning as much as he possibly could. Craig Oakes felt

that there was a gap in the market for a flexible broker who could offer a personal broker service to his customers. By building relationships and trust it means that his clients generally see him as a safe pair of hands to look after their interests. He left the company he was working for as Branch manager and decided to set up Oakes Insure as an appointed representative for The Gauntlet Group which in turn gave him support to be able to offer any type of general insurance through the Willis Insurer network. With access to around 300 insurer agencies. Without this buying power it is extremely difficult to operate as a broker but of course, Craig, who is now authorised in his own right by the FCA as is the parent company Oakes Insurance Brokers Ltd and Oakes Insure could not operate in the industry if he was not as qualified and experienced as he is. Gauntlet would not have even let him into reception let alone trusted him to work under their banner. This is the story so far and we hope to see Oakes Insure progress into a trusted and known name in the future and one that you can Always rely to look after your business or property naturally.

Across Volunteers' Week, our volunteers delivered six free wellbeing and exercise sessions, welcomed 94 attendances, and created spaces where veterans, NHS staff, and families could move, talk, and feel connected.

For us, this is business as usual, and that’s something we’re extremely proud of.

Alongside this, we created new links this week with a young care‑leavers programme in Weymouth and two youth organisations in Dorchester, offering their volunteers practical first‑aid and team‑building sessions throughout the year.

Looking ahead to next weekend, 10 of our volunteers signed up to marshal at next Sunday’s BustinSkin middle‑distance triathlon.

The key message is that being a volunteer‑run military charity means we can use the skills we have to support the people around us, sharing them across the wider community so other volunteer and community‑sector organisations can grow, contribute, and deliver alongside us.

So, to every volunteer who gave their time, energy, and heart this week.
