We’re delighted to announce that our Charity of the Year for 2026 – 2027 is Jericho Foundation 💛

Jericho are an award-winning Birmingham charity with six social enterprises, providing supported work opportunities for people facing extreme challenges in getting a job, primarily supporting marginalised young people and survivors of modern slavery.

We’re passionate about supporting people to own a more secure future through access to housing and financial wellbeing, which is at the heart of the West Brom’s purpose. Jericho align closely with our purpose through providing vital support to help reduce isolation, support recovery, and promote inclusion.

We’ve been partnered since 2024 and have been fundraising and providing support since.

We’re looking forward to another year of strengthening our amazing partnership with Jericho Foundation 💜

We’re proud to say we are B Corp™ certified, which means we meet high standards of social and environmental responsibility by putting people and our planet at the heart of everything we do.

To support our local greenspaces, we've recently volunteered at Sandwell Valley Garden to maintain our beautiful local environments for our communities to enjoy 💜

We’re pleased to share our Full-Year Results 2026. 🌳

🏡We've helped more than 5,500 people take their first step into homeownership.

💰We’ve also welcomed more than 21,000 new savers during the year, up 54% from the previous year.

🌟We’ve retained our Feefo Gold Trusted Service Award for 2026.

Our strong performance reflects our clear focus on doing the right thing for our members and we’re proud of the progress we’ve made, but we’re not standing still. We’re continuing to invest in our communities, our people and our digital transformation, so that we can offer even greater choice, flexibility and support for our members now and into the future.

It’s National Volunteering Week! 🤗

At the West Brom, one of the many ways we give back is through offering our colleagues 2 days for volunteering each year.

In April 2025 – March 2026, we gave 1,891 hours to local causes, including Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, Sandwell Valley, Compton Care Hospice and more.

We’re committed to giving back to our local communities and connecting to our heartlands we serve in 💜

We’re excited to announce the release of the West Bromwich Building Society Foundation’s Impact Report for 2025.

This impact report highlights how the Foundation has made a real difference to our local communities. By investing in grassroot projects, such as Barnardo’s Gap Homes, and championing local initiatives such as YMCA Youth Café, the Foundation is working towards creating brighter futures across the region 💜

Ready…steady…go! 👟

Last week, 9 of our colleagues represented Team West Brom at Birmingham Children's Hospital and Charity's corporate sports day! 🎈

It was an amazing day full of healthy competition and old school sports day games, such as sack races and tug of war. Our colleagues raised £640, contributing to the grand total of over £60,000! 🎉

We’re so proud to be partnered with Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity and to be able to support with funds to contribute towards the reconstruction of the hospital’s front entrance, making a welcoming space for children 💜

Our colleagues from Handsworth, Perry Barr and Cape Hill attended the UK’s largest Vaisakhi celebration in Smethwick earlier this month.

The event was amazing, and our colleagues loved chatting to customers about all things mortgages and savings in the heart of our local communities 💜

In case you missed it…we have community room spaces in our branches! 💜

Our community rooms are free spaces available in our Tipton, Bearwood, Shrewsbury, Perry Barr and Kingstanding branches for local groups, charities and neighbours who need a safe space to connect or host events.

Here are some of the things we’ve been up to so far:

☕ We hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning

🍼 A baby and toddler group called Moo Music hold weekly sessions in Tipton

💬 Our Talkin’ Tables partnership has launched in Tipton and is held weekly every Friday

🌍 We hosted World Mental Health Day ‘Tea and Talk’ sessions

We’re delighted to have granted funds through our Mercian Trust grant scheme for St Thomas’ Church Public Gardens in Stourbridge 🎉

With the funds donated, Stourbridge BID have purchased three new wooden benches to improve the well-used and loved green space 🌳

Through our Community Account, our customers can save whilst supporting the Mercian Trust grant scheme for our local community and causes 💜
