Acknowledging that the UK is in a recession, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has set out the Government’s plan for stabilising the country’s economy and reducing inflation in the Autumn Statement announced earlier today.

Because of the uncertainties in the financial markets and the wider international economy, there has been speculation that the Bank of England would increase interest rates this month to counter the possible effects of a likely inflationary cycle. This month, they have decided not to make that move....

It has been a great time for Ashby Mortgages this last week.
We are very proud to have been nominated at the HL Partnership Mortgage conference on the 30th September. Held at the prestigious Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales.

Ashby Mortgages was shortlisted down to the top 5 for best advisor firm for the whole of the Midlands & Wales.
A huge area and we are extremely proud to be recognised for our consistency to service and keeping Mortgages simple!

Many of us have sheds in our gardens. Some were probably inherited when we moved house and are versatile enough to be a gardener's store, a hobby sanctuary or just a place to keep bicycles and other items that won't fit anywhere else.

Actually was from 2 sisters and their partners who have now both been set up with their first homes within 8-months of one another.

The stamp duty (SDLT) holiday, introduced in July 2020, was designed to stimulate the housing market by cancelling or reducing stamp duty payments on house purchases during the holiday period when the nil band for residential properties was increased from £125,000 to £500,000.

It seems as the weather heats up, the mortgage market shows a few early signs of cooling down as a clear change in tempo starts appearing.

Ashby Mortgages managed to secure mortgage advances for our clients for an amount in excess of £18 million in the last 11-months. A huge milestone and testament to a market that has shown extraordinary outcomes despite the obvious challenges we have all faced.
