Do you ever send a ‘test payment’ to a new payee just to confirm you’ve got the details right?

Don't worry - our ‘Confirmation of Payee’ name verification check provides you with the same confidence that every payment is going to the right place 🙏

When you add a new payee, we’ll check the name you’ve given us against the name on the actual account (provided by the institution the account is with), to identify whether the details are correct ✅

We’ll let you know whether the name is an exact match, a close match, or not a match at all, and even some extra bits of information like whether the payee has recently switched to a new account or whether the account is registered as a business or personal account.

We’ll make it easy for you to quickly correct any mistakes and make an informed decision about whether to continue with the payment 🙌

Why is it important?

This new Confirmation of Payee check will make sure that any typos are picked up before you part ways with your money. Also, scams and fraud relating to authorised payments are also on the rise – this check will help you spot whether someone asking you to send them money isn’t who they say they are 🔒
