Quad bike stuntman, The Kangaroo Kid, has dozens of shows booked across the UK for 2026 and 2027, thanks to a £25k Start Up Loan delivered by SWIG Finance on behalf of the government-backed British Business Bank.

The Start Up Loan enabled business owner Sam Coulter to purchase a new trailer which converts into a ramp, and a van that can transport the whole lot around the country during touring season.

Sam commented “It would have been very difficult to get everything in place without the loan. I had worried whether anyone would lend me money to do this, and doing it through my other business would have been a big financial risk.

“But the process was the best it could possibly be. Ellie was great at explaining how it worked and making sure I provided the right information to make the decision quick and easy. I’m so glad I decided to give it a shot, as it’s all working out fantastically.”

Cornwall-based agri-tech business, Horizon Agri Ltd, is using drone technology to make agricultural jobs faster, safer and more efficient, thanks to a Start Up Loan and South West Investment Fund package, delivered by SWIG Finance.

During the application process, Founder Seamus McGuinness worked with Jo MacEachen, Senior Start Up Loans Manager and Business Manager, Rachel Thomson. He described the application process as “pretty intense but really good - no stone was left unturned.”

David Tindall, Senior Investment Manager from the British Business Bank, said: “Agri-tech is a growing sector with huge potential to improve productivity and sustainability across UK agriculture. Businesses like Horizon Agri Ltd show how technologies such as drones can help farmers work more efficiently while reducing costs and environmental impact.
