1% Dividend approved by Dragonsavers members.

Following the Annual General Meeting last week, the board are happy to confirm that the membership voted to approve a further annual increased dividend of 1% on members savings (increase from 0.9%) last year.

The board were pleased to report another successful year for Dragonsavers, with post audit surplus of £193,367. Dividend has been paid to members savings accounts from this.

Dragonsavers has seen a growth in both members and members taking up products and are delighted to be able to transfer so much of the surplus back to members.

Congratulations to Chris Bates on receiving recognition at this years Credit Unions of Wales Awards for a fantastic 25 years as an employee of the credit union. Chris started as a volunteer in 1991 and has progressed through the organisation and brings a wealth of experience to her role. Well done Chris! We're all really proud of you.

Membership of British credit unions has now reached an all-time high of 1.52 million people – including adult and junior members – reflecting a 3% increase over the past year and an impressive 8.8% rise since 2020. Member savings remain strong too, with total shares at £2.34 billion in 2024, up 37% since 2020.
