A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document that allows you to appoint one or more individuals (attorneys) to make decisions on your behalf if you become unable to do so. There are two types of LPAs:

1. Health and Welfare LPA allows your attorney(s) to make decisions on:
✔️your medical care
✔️your living arrangements
✔️your care
✔️your personal welfare

2. Property and Financial Affairs LPA allows your attorney(s) to make decisions on:
✔️manage your bank accounts, pay bills and collect benefits
✔️buy or sell property on your behalf
✔️make decisions on any investments and other financial matters

Creating an LPA allows you to choose trusted individuals that can make important decisions for you, protecting your well-being and interests if you become unable to.

Powers of Attorney are not part of the Quilter Financial Planning offering and is by referral only.

A Will is a legal document that outlines how you want your assets and estate to be distributed after your death. It allows you to:

✔️ appoint executors to ensure your wishes are carried out
✔️ distribute assets as you wish
✔️ choose who will take care of your children
✔️ express your preferences for funeral arrangements
✔️ avoid decisions being made for you by the Government or a court
✔️ reduce any potential conflicts among beneficiaries

Creating a Will is an important step in estate planning, providing peace of mind that your wishes will be honoured and any loved ones taken care of.

Will writing is not part of the Quilter Financial Planning offering and is by referral only.

Keir responded: “It runs out in a number of years and we’re not going to renew it”

Moments later the Labour Party released the below statement and indicated that Keir had accidentally confused different tax measures.

Consider the impact of being unable to work an extended period due to an accident or illness.

Would you want to:
- continue paying your bills?
- continue paying your mortgage so that you can stay in your house?
- continue to enjoy some luxuries?
- continue to afford groceries?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then an Income Protection policy could provide you with financial stability to maintain your lifestyle in the event of being off work.

✔️Tax free withdrawals
✔️Save up to £20,000 into an ISA, reducing the amount of tax you pay on your savings
✔️Can be transferred to the surviving spouse should you pass away
✔️Flexible withdrawals
✔️Potential for higher returns than a Cash ISA
✔️You can decide how and where your savings are invested

Investing in a Stocks and Shares ISA can be a strategic choice for maximising your savings while enjoying tax benefits and investment flexibility.

For ISA’s investors do not pay any personal tax on income or gains but ISAs do pay unrecoverable tax on income from Stocks and Shares received by the ISA manager. Tax treatment varies according to individual circumstances and is subject to change.
