A few weeks ago, we mentioned the Business Fives Charity event that we took part in to raise money for the Northampton Hope Centre.

Well, what a day! We started strong, winning our 4 group games with a goal difference of +23

This included a 10 – 0 win against Lancaster Insurance prompting quote of the tournament from their goalkeeper “Corr, these lads have had their Weetabix!”

Into the last 16, we produced a strong 7-2 win, including an exceptional team goal, finished in style by Jay Leaver.

Onto the last 8, another convincing win at 6-1

Into the semi-finals, where Blundell produced a lovely little backheel finish to take the lead.

Then travesty struck, Scott threw the ball to Ben, a heavy second touch caused the ball to roll back onto the line of Scott’s area, with pass backs not allowed, the ref decided to give a hugely controversial penalty, swinging the game in their favour.

We ended up losing 2-1 but did ourselves proud.

Special mention to Ben Mear, who brought home a trophy for the Golden Boot award, netting 24 goals!

Amazing effort from the whole team, made up of Ben Mear, Tim Norman, Tom Blundell, Jay Leaver and Scott Harris.

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far, there is still time to support such a great cause - https://bit.ly/4bXrTSJ

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. Happening every year, it’s a day for friends, families, communities and colleagues to come together to talk, listen and change lives.

At Claims Consortium Group we believe the most important step to take with any issues relating to mental health is to talk about it. To ensure our employees have every opportunity to do so, we provide access to counselling services through our Employee Assistance Programme, as well as having trained over 60 employees to be Mental Health First Aiders who are on hand to provide support.
