"Business Protection" - RELEVANT LIFE

If you are self employed, did you know you can arrange policies to run through the business? A relevant life policy is arranged in the same way as a "Death in Service" scheme, where an employer would pay out x times your annual salary in the event of death.

If you run your own business, you can arrange a policy to pay out a certain amount based on your annual earnings. This can be paid to your beneficiaries, or even back to the business to supplement your value to the company.

Additionally, setting this up through the business will mean you can claim the tax back on the monthly premiums so you will be effectively getting a 20% discount!

"INCOME PROTECTION"

Do you know what sick pay your employer offers, if any? If you were off work for a sustained period of time due to ill health and your income stopped, how would you be able to pay your mortgage?

Income Protection can be arranged to ensure if you are off work, the policy will pay you an agreed monthly amount to cover your bills based on your earnings.

Policies can be written to pay out your earnings on terms ranging from 1 year, 2 year and even up to 35 years!

Unlike Life cover and critical illness cover, you can make UNLIMITED claims on an income protection policy throughout the term. So you could be off work for 6 months and claim, go back to work for a month and then be off work again and make another claim!

Can be especially important for the self employed, who usually have no sick pay provisions!

Arranged to protect you if you are diagnosed with a serious/critical illness. Will provide a lump sum payout on diagnosis.

Can be a very important safety net to provide you with financial support if you have to take time off work to recover.

Statistically the most important cover you will need. Like life cover, can be set up on a LEVEL or DECREASING basis.

Childrens cover is also available, if your child were to suffer from a critical illness. Can provide peace of mind your finances are secure if you have to take time off of work to look after children.

Does what it says on the tin, covers your life in the event of your death.

Can be arranged on a decreasing basis (if mortgage related) or on a level basis if you want to leave a surplus for your loved ones.

Can be set up in sole or joint names, however with joint policies they pay out on first death ONLY, potentially leaving the remaining person uninsured.

Very simple and straightforward to understand, and competitively priced!
