At Allstar, we believe in giving back to the communities around us. Throughout the year, our teams dedicate time to volunteering with local charities and supporting causes that make a real difference.

Earlier this week, a group of colleagues visited Prospect Hospice, near our Swindon office, to help tidy their gardens, from weeding the memorial garden to washing the patios. We know how important these gardens are to everyone at the hospice, so we were delighted to lend a helping hand and make a small difference.

A huge thank you to Prospect Hospice for having us and for the incredible work they do to support our local community. And of course, thank you to our fantastic team for all their hard work on the day👏

In our last EV Solutions series post, we talked about charging at home, and how simple it can be with the right tools in place. But what if charging at home isn’t an option?

According to the Government’s English Housing Survey data, 32% of households don’t have access to off-street parking so charging at home isn’t possible. That can mean relying on public charging and therefore losing time during the working day, planning around availability, and not always knowing if a charger will be free when it’s needed.

That’s where near-home charging comes in.

With Allstar’s partnership with Co Charger Electric Vehicle Charging, drivers can charge close to home by accessing a network of nearby chargers, which are typically minutes away. Using the Co Charger app, they can pre-book a time that works for them with a trusted local host, meaning their vehicles can be ready to go at the start of the day.

Once the session is complete, all charging usage is automatically tracked and consolidated and included in the same invoice as other Allstar spend.⚡

There’s the cost savings too, as businesses could save on average 40%* compared with public charging rates.

According to new research from Allstar, a survey of 300 UK SMB owners and directors who manage fleets of 4 to 20 vehicles reveals that 97% are anxious about managing fuel and EV charging payments.🚘

For many UK SMBs, paying for fuel or EV charging should be a simple, routine task. Instead, it’s becoming a growing source of frustration.

As fleets shift towards a mix of petrol, diesel and electric vehicles, what was once straightforward is now often fragmented across multiple cards, apps and providers, adding complexity at a time when efficiency matters most.

Paul Holland, Managing Director for UK/ANZ Vehicle Payments, Corpay, including UK brand Allstar, said: “Fragmented payment systems are creating a hidden but significant drag on SMB fleets. Paying for fuel or charging should be a simple task, but it has become a source of friction, inefficiencies and anxiety for businesses.
