Good article from my colleague, Ben Alcock, on the importance of estate planning in keeping your hard earned wealth within the family.

Today’s tax receipt data shows that estate planning is more important than ever, according to national financial advice firm Continuum.

Ben Alcock FCII, Chartered Financial Planner at Continuum, said: “With inheritance tax receipts to HMRC continuing to rise with no sign of slowing down, now more than ever families need to be planning for their future accordingly.

Some great news on how we are continuing to support our clients in these difficult times.

National independent financial adviser firm Continuum has seen assets under advice increase by almost a fifth to over £1.81bn.

Continuum’s Q2 2023 results showed a 19% rise in assets under advice, as well as a 14% increase in financial advisers numbers to 67.

The IFA firm also “strengthened” its adviser support via an increase in its paraplanning and central administration teams.

Regarding the Financial Conduct Authority’s Consumer Duty which will come into force at the end of this month (31 July 2023), Continuum said it is “well prepared for its introduction”.
