Yesterday, our Head of Accountancy & Tax, Lee, attended the Sage MTD ITSA roadshow and was on the panel of experts being asked questions regarding what is the biggest change to Self Assesment taxation since it was launched in 1996.

Making tax digital for Income Tax Self Assessment (MTD ITSA) starts in April 2026, for those with income over £50k and will apply to individuals with income over £30k from April 2027.

Individuals will need to be keeping digital records and providing quarterly updates to HMRC as well as an annual return.

Lee, is a subject matter expert in this area, so please get in touch if you meet this criteria to see how we can get you set up ready. It's only a year away so we are actively setting clients up ready, so when the changes come, they will be ready to go and used to the new requirements.
