The querent asks “I am looking to start a new undertaking, is this the best time?”

We split this into four cards.

Past: The Four of Wands is the card of harmony and positivity, we can see a strong castle, tall sprouts and blossoming cornl, equal and even. It refers us to hard work completed and a period of repose, peace and the basking in the fruit of our efforts.

Present: The Two of Cups is the card of Partnerships and connections, familial and platonic as much as romantic. It ushers a time when people need to join together, to form stronger relationships, more stable teams and to avoid conflict in favour or truce and amnesty.

Future:The Six of the Cups is a peculiar card, in most classic readings it represents “Nostalgia” or a returning to simpler and easier times. It portends a period in which we either return to the comforts of old or in the worst scenario fall into old habits and refuse to move forward.

Theme: The Knight of Pentacles like all Knights represents “Hard work” or “effort” and the Suit of Pentacles is the most physical of the suits always reflecting the practical day to day realites and responsibilities we undertake. It lets us know of a steady work ethic, a slow but sure striving towards a goal, something comfortable but firm.
Here he canters through a tall harvest.

Taken individually this reading seems quite at odds, but in the context of the Question asked then they come together in a steadfast unison.

The querent has asked “I am looking to start a new undertaking, is this the best time?”

The wands tell us that we have already made gains and have recently brought things to fruition that we had possibly worked long and hard on, that this lead to a time of contentment…stepping back and being rightfully proud, then this satisfaction takes us to the present where the Querent is in a position of forging connections and partnerships, presumably laying the groundwork for their “plan” for their new adventure or chapter, this reflection carries though to the social bonds they are forging now.

However the Six of cups rings clear, “nostalgia” “Returning to old” “Brining yourself back to where you were” , in the context of beginning something new this is in direct opposition, it would seem that we need to do the opposite.
That work that we have just finished, that completed and satisfactory state we are in? Let’s stay there for a while yet, continue with our current goals.

The Knight of Pentacles ruling over this? Practical, slow and steady, firm not the fire and passion we need for something fresh or grand.

In summary, is now the best time for something new? For that big change?
I would wager not.

For those with an interest in Astrology it should also be noted that we are currently in the beginning phase of Mars’s retrograde in Gemini.
Mars rules Action, passion and drive and Gemini rules career, families hobbies and curiosity. These in retrograde, mean that now is the worst time to take action in these areas.

As always if you are looking for a reading either brief or detailed, in person or remote, drop me a message I will be happy to help

The querent is nervous about the outcome of a meeting .

1)Where have you come from?
The four of Swords, this card signifies recovery, rest and restoration, it signifies either that the querent is either coming out of a stressful or troublesome phase of that their recent past had been marked by a need for rest.

2) Where are you now?
The Knight of Cups indicates strong connection and interaction, classically he represents romance however he can also represent intimacy in a familial or platonic sense.

3) What is to come?
The six of Swords is the harbinger of transitions most importantly moving on, it represents a great change, of one chapter ending and another beginning.
These changes are not always positive and may often be the start of trials. Here we see a boat moving through waters that do not look calm.

4) What is to be done?
The Knight of Swords is Ambition, he is drive and reckless action, often "riding headlong into battle" carried on as much by his own momentum as any will or thought.
Single mindedness and force.

Together this reading suggests that the querent is currently in or coming out of the back end of a very troubling or hard time. However with or due to the support of someone very close to them they will be spurred into a period of change, what has been is coming to an end and something totally new awaits. What this change will be is likely not to be seen untill it is on top of them, they will be to blinded either by momentum or those close to them to see it sooner.

For your own reading whether short or in depth, just message to arrange a session either in person or remotely at very competitive prices, times are hard and I'm not one to keep up with inflation.

A recent reading for a client*

Q: Whats stopping my practical goals, why can't I stick to them?

A: The six of pentacles represents, charity, giving , sharing but also commitment. Whilst the pentacles are the physical/practice suit this can just as much refer to the practical act of sharing time and effort.

The Ace of Pentacles like all aces represents newness, beginnings and opportunities with a tendency towards outright prosperity.

Whilst the final card the four of pentacles represents, conservation, security and frugality

Taken together the abundance of pentacles points firmly to the physical which is good considering the question, overall the querent is being held back by a lack of commitment, they arent giving enough time to their task, if you don't give then you won't bear fruit, you can't see progress without effort.

Ultimately that lack of giving of input is going to hinder any new growth any new chances and stop success, if the querent continues holding back, being frugal or safe with their effort its all going to fall apart.

It seems like common sense doesn't it? "Dan, you dont need tarot cards to tell someone that not putting in effort is going to stop results" but we often underpeform or fail to push ourselves in almost every aspect of life, trying and I mean really trying at anything is really hard...at least if your doing it right.

We get ourselves into comfortable routines with our lives, our family our jobs our habits, we make things easy.
But if you really want to have a goal, really DO something...we have to push and we often forget that.

In this instance the querent needs to buckle down and dedicate themselves to it.

I'm back!

After COVID hit I stopped doing public readings due to safety concerns and some personal factors however it's something I've never stopped doing privately, in fact I've now over fifteen years experience!(Yay me!)

But now I'm in a much better position.

So here's the deal

I'm not going to charge "professional" prices, that's not fair this isn't my day job, but I do want to offer professional quality.

I offer more than just a reading but a discussion!
After all information is useless if you don't know what to do with it.

I won't just sit you down, throw the cards on the table, churn out some vaguely mystic phrases and leave you to it."I see something new in your future!" ... what a new blackhead?

Instead I want to work through the questions or problems you have and try and figure out what the best course of action is going to be given "your" circumstances. " Oooh you've drawn the lovers! But what does that mean? Spicy renewal with the Hubster? Get to awkwardly watch your mates snog? Or is it telling you to have some self Love first?(no not that way?!)"

One thing I aim to provide is a practical reading in a practical way, as little or as much fuss as you want but at half the price .

With simple but accurate readings starting from as little as £10 for a simple spread your more than welcome to give me a message or a call!

Best of all, Im pretty decent at this!

Honest!

I have been Studying Astrology for about a year now though admittedly not as studiously as I would have liked.
Recently however I have started to look at my readings more and more in the context not only of individual traits but also larger contexts and the forms that govern them.
A knowledge of Astrological positions and events have more often than not given me more information to work with and resulted in more accurate readings.

I'm considering making Astrology a part of my standard reading and skill set.

In other news I picked up this book in Waterstones today, no idea if it's good or not yet but I'll definitely get back to you with a review.

They say never judge a book by its cover but honestly it was the colour scheme that caught my eye.

The querent asks if a problem should be approached with Logic and reserve or with great passion?

The VII of Wands indicates maintaing control and perseverance the VIII of Wands represents hard work and dillgence it is normally a card that indicates the fruit of something long and hard worked at.

Death that ever sweeping reaper is the bringer of ends, change and in turn new beginnings and running over them all The Star.

The Star represents hope , faith and rejuvenation.

Overall the cards point towards what most would instinctively presume.
The first two cards are those of the methodical the planned the guided and the good results that come with such tempered...logical... action.
The last two are one of emotions and abstracts (The Star rules all that is so abstract) and great sudden and inevitable change and shifts.

You need both, plain and simple.

Poor is the man who lacks either or allows one alone to rule him.
Proceed with a sound mind and a full heart.

The Result of a Spiritual Change
Change happens through life, we all grow in every aspect including our religious and spiritual beliefs.
The querent asks if their change will be for the better or worse?
Adjustment and the princess of cups compliment each other perfectly the former representing a finding of balance (of justice) and a proper order to all things while the latter heralds a new emotional development , the beginning of something.

The five of swords classically represents turmoil, a battle that while won still heralds loss or conflict to come, conflict is at the heart of this card and ultimately at the heart of all change.
Something, some person or some idea must always lose the fight in the process of change itself.
In full reckoning it would seem that while this change may be beneficial for the querent, bringing order and positive growth to them it will likely be hard for those around them and may be a point of anger or contention.

Change in others often is harder to accept than change in ourselves.
