Holiday season is in full swing (although if you are staying in the UK you might not have noticed).

It's important to budget during the holidays, whether you're looking after the kids at home or jetting off somewhere hot. It's easy to get carried away and overspend in the moment. So ideally, set a budget and stick to it before you go away or go out for the day.

If you do overspend and can't afford to pay it off straight away, minimise any interest payments. As a general rule, overdrafts and credit cards are high interest, so either look for a credit card balance transfer offer or if you have savings that are getting low interest, consider using these funds to pay off any over-spending.

and remember, if you don't feel in control of your finances, talk to someone who can help.
