This we're asking why people save? We grew up being told it was a good idea to save for a rainy day but there seems to be so many rainy days nowadays! We think it's easier to get saving if you have a goal in mind - is it for a deposit? Maybe a holiday or something around the house? Maybe you want to treat yourself to something?

Setting a goal makes it real and that makes it easier to know how much you need to squirrel away in your Scotwest Saver Account each payday and that makes it all the more likely that you'll make your goal!

We are delighted to announce as the latest recipient of a Scotwest Community Award.

Soap Glow is a community-led, not-for-profit organisation co-founded in Coatbridge by Karen Shields and Amanda Moore. It tackles hygiene poverty by turning donated aluminium cans and plastic bottles into essential hygiene and household support for local people and families.

The model is simple. People and local businesses donate their eligible empties. We deposit them through Lidl’s reverse-vending machines, and the vouchers help fund essential hygiene products. Pupils then help pack tailored hygiene boxes, which are provided discreetly through trusted referrals from schools, social work, health visitors, Women’s Aid, CAMHS and other local services.
