We would like to take this opportunity, once again, to congratulate our partners at Bespoke Care and Support on their recent PAMMS inspection outcome.

PAMMS (Provider Assessment and Market Management Solution) was developed with Directors of Social Services to deliver dynamic data collection, analysis and reporting to increase care quality and mitigate risks of provider failure.

Both homes (The Ings & Woodways) achieved an Excellent rating and are currently the only services in Barnsley to be rated as Excellent. There are many rated as Good, but none have received an Excellent rating, until now.

This is a major achievement from everyone and is truly a testament to the hard work, commitment, and dedication from all staff teams across both services, which they demonstrate in spades.

At Safe As Houses, we have had the pleasure of being part of a number of projects that collaboratively have been commissioned to support people with autism.

From Derbyshire to several projects in Oxfordshire, we have been able to create bespoke and person-focused projects to help individuals with autism feel empowered as they live as independently as possible.

Last May, we were able to visit one of the projects a year after completion. Seeing the inspiring work they have been doing is simply a feeling like no other.

Autism Awareness Month isn’t just for 30 days, it’s for the remaining 335 days of the year and the many that follow. It’s a time that allows us to come together to create awareness, inclusivity and develop our understanding of autism.

Happy Autism Awareness Month!

Although Safe As Houses do not provide any care and support services, we do work in partnership with commissioning teams and care operators so that we are able to deliver high-quality, bespoke housing and property solutions.

At Safe As Houses our underpinning values and ethos allows us to be aligned with all key principles of residential and supported accommodation requirements and we fully engage with partners to ensure that children’s and young people’s needs are met in a safe, nurturing and homely environment where they can thrive.

At Safe As Houses, we partner with like-minded companies that follow a similar vision and mission, to help alleviate the chronic lack of care facilities within the UK & fund life-changing, high-quality and future-proofed environments. Stafford House is a true representation of this.

Along with our construction partner JWF & architectural partner ADC, we converted this former office premises known as Stafford House, in Barrow-in-Furness into fit-for-purpose one-bedroom apartments for up to 9 individuals with various care needs. The apartments have been vigilantly designed with the end user at the heart of the development.

The property stretches over 600m2 across 3 floors, it includes generously spaced, modern, bright, self-contained apartments, which enables the care provider to deliver person-centred care within a space where they can live as independently as possible.

The extensive grounds have been cleared, upgraded, & given a new lease of life as a secure, private, and tranquil garden to support the end user’s care plan and independence. The space will also lend itself as an area that visitors can enjoy as they visit loved ones.

As with all SAH developments, Stafford House has been fitted with sustainable and fit-for-purpose features and fittings throughout, such as high energy efficiency rating, smart-use water cylinders and double-glazing.

Stafford House is a prime example of in action. All stakeholders provided full support and engagement to allow us to develop a high-spec, needs-led, environment for individuals within their community.

Matthew Eddisford, Care Housing Association Ltd

“Stafford House is the culmination of a positive, collaborative approach between CHA, SAH, Barrow-In-Furness Borough Council & Community Integrated Care.

The result is a much-needed, high-quality, desirable, and accommodation that will support the needs of the tenants. Throughout the process, all parties have been solely focussed on providing superb outcomes for the people we serve.”

Stuart & Phil, SAH

Barrow-In-Furness was identified as a key focus area for a new Specialised Supported service. SAH worked closely with CIC and CHA to ensure we found the right in the right location to meet the aforementioned demand.

It is a result of this collaboration with all stakeholders from the outset & throughout that ensured the completed development was fit for purpose and future-proofed.

Lindsey Briggs, CIC

“Stafford House has been designed collaboratively by CIC, SAH & CHA, to ensure those who need additional support are able to live with their own independence.

Most people want their own front door, and so we wanted to provide independent living that is bespoke for each resident. Stafford House enables us to do this in the heart of the .

CIC looks forward to supporting people in their own homes to live their best lives possible.”

Set across two different locations, but both sharing the same message.

Yesterday, Safe As Houses Internal Legal Counsels’ Stephanie Hands and Natalya Killen delivered a legal workshop to inform and update our team on processes, terminology and responsibilities.

With Steph leading the workshop in Stirling and Natalya doing the same in Warrington, the two evoked engaging and thought-provoking discussions based on current and previous SAH projects.

This will be the first of several legal workshops, which will build on our teams' current expertise and knowledge as they work cohesively and harmoniously with partners in creating sustainable and fit-for-purpose homes for the care sector. After all, sharing knowledge is gaining knowledge!

Thank you to Steph and Natalya for a fantastic workshop!

Yesterday, they were joined by Commercial Director, Stuart Nicoll and Director of Corporate Finance, Fraser MacArthur, where they discussed, and explained current issues and the solutions needed with the aim to stimulate important conversations.
