In 2009, after being blown up by an IED in Afghanistan, I spent 12 hours talking to a nurse in Camp Bastion Hospital.

I was completely blind and never saw her face.

Yesterday, 16 years, 5 months and 28 days later, I finally did.

Today one of our veterans had the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Houses of Parliament on a guided tour hosted by Stevenage MP Kevin Bonavia.

Experiences like this help strengthen the connection between our Armed Forces community and those representing them in Westminster.

A big thank you to Kevin for taking the time to welcome and support one of our veterans. Opportunities like these create conversations, build understanding and ensure veterans remain part of the national discussion.

Sometimes I forget just how much fun we had recording The Muster Point Podcast.

What started as me and Steve sitting in front of a couple of microphones talking absolute nonsense somehow turned into something people actually listened to.

Along the way we had some brilliant guests, some great conversations, plenty of military banter and more than a few moments that probably should never have made it into an episode.

It wasn't polished. It wasn't corporate. It was just honest conversations, laughs, stories and occasionally putting the world to rights.

Looking back at the episodes reminds me just how much we enjoyed making it.
