Spent years being told to move with a sense of urgency and apparently you can't just switch that off.

My missus says looking at the back of my head all day is not her idea of a family day out. I say we're making excellent time.

Anyone else still walking everywhere like they're late for orders?

A compo ration wasn't a meal.

It was the starting point for whatever culinary disaster the lads came up with next.

What was the best ration pack invention you ever saw?

The annual migration of the ginger blokes has begun.

Shade. Clouds. Buildings. Anywhere but direct sunlight.

Tag the one who used to disappear every summer.

The Muster Point was mentioned today during the debate on the Armed Forces Bill in Parliament.

From a weekly veterans' breakfast in Stevenage to being referenced in Westminster, it shows the importance of grassroots organisations in giving veterans a voice and driving change.

This recognition belongs to every veteran who has supported, attended and helped build our community.

We're just getting started.

Behind the Scenes at Parliament

Today, a group of veterans from The Muster Point had the privilege of a behind-the-scenes tour of the Palace of Westminster, kindly arranged by Kevin Bonavia.

It was a fantastic opportunity to explore one of the most iconic buildings in the country, learn more about the history of Parliament, and gain an insight into how decisions are made that affect communities across the UK, including the Armed Forces community.

We were also joined by Paul, who has recently launched the RV Point in Luton. It was great to spend time together and continue building connections between veteran-led organisations that are making a real difference in their local communities.

A huge thank you to Kevin for taking the time to host us and for his continued support of The Muster Point and the wider Armed Forces community.

The veterans' voice belongs in these buildings, and today was a reminder that it deserves to be heard.

Spent some time with Hertfordshire Constabulary this afternoon recording content for Armed Forces Week.

We spoke about the Forcer Protocol and the support available through Op NOVA, helping raise awareness of the services and pathways available to serving personnel, reservists and veterans.

The Forcer Protocol allows veterans and serving personnel to securely record important information in advance, helping police respond more quickly and effectively if someone is reported missing. Hertfordshire Constabulary has recently signed up to the scheme, strengthening support for the Armed Forces community across the county.

Good to be working alongside partners who recognise the unique challenges some veterans face and are committed to improving support when it's needed most.

VOLUNTEERS' WEEK

The Muster Point is entirely run by volunteers, and this week we're shining a light on some of the incredible people who give their time to support our veteran community.

A huge thank you to Amanda, Martyn, John and Paul, who each bring their own experiences, skills and dedication to helping veterans reconnect, find support and feel part of something again.

Whether it's welcoming new members, running groups, offering peer support or helping behind the scenes, their contribution makes a real difference.

Without volunteers like these, The Muster Point simply wouldn't exist.

To all our volunteers, thank you for everything you do.

Basic training taught you many things.
Mainly that one bloke making a mistake somehow became everyone's problem.

Who was the disaster crow in your intake?

The Army teaches you many things.

One of them is that whenever somebody says "five minutes" or "don't worry" you should immediately prepare for the worst.

You just know they're loving life at the moment.

Tanning oil, lemon juice in the hair, water bottle in hand and enough confidence to think Love Island might be calling.

Who was the biggest sun worshipper in your unit?
