This client owns a growing construction business and, like many, simply didnโ€™t have the time or the know-how to put his retained business funds to work.
โ€‹
For the past few years the money had been parked in a business savings account earning next to nothing. The problem was he didnโ€™t want all his surplus cash tied up until retirement. He wanted something that would generate income now and grow over time.
โ€‹
So we secured him a property. Everything was structured from the start. I introduced him to an accountant to ensure it worked for his tax position, my broker arranged the finance, insurance was put in place, and a letting agent lined up to manage it.

Over Christmas Iโ€™m not going to lie, I was absolutely shattered after a huge period of growth in the business. We talk about growth all the time, but until youโ€™re actually in it, holy s**t, sometimes it genuinely feels like your head is going to explode, and itโ€™s not fun while youโ€™re going through it.
โ€‹
Record numbers of clients helped and properties secured, alongside the relentless final push to get everything wrapped up before the New Year. When it finally came time to switch off, it was well needed and long overdue, because as a business owner, everything ultimately falls on your shoulders.
โ€‹
I remember standing there at Centre Parcs, Christmas jumper on, toasting marshmallows with my family, thinking to myself, that was a tough end to the year, is it actually worth it?
โ€‹
Let me be crystal clear, I have no intention of slowing down. But it became obvious changes had to be made. I refuse to allow poor service for clients. We deliver what we promise, always.
โ€‹
So hereโ€™s what Iโ€™ve implemented.
โ€‹
Bringing on two new members of staff. Expanding our professional panels. Removing myself from areas where I add little value and refocusing where Iโ€™m actually needed to ensure clients get exactly what we committed to.
โ€‹
Itโ€™s taken serious planning, training, and a lot of late nights to properly onboard new starters. Not just teaching them how to do a job, but helping them truly understand the responsibility we carry to our clients.
โ€‹
The result is simple. Clients are consistently updated. Cases are progressed properly. Viewings are completed. Refurbs are delivered on time and on budget. More quality properties are being negotiated and secured, without clients having to worry whether weโ€™ll deliver the end result.
โ€‹
Looking ahead to a massive 2026, my aim is to smash the 2025 record for the number of clients we help reach their goals through property. Doing that also means a record level of contributions to CHUMS charity, supporting abused children with life changing help so they can become the best version of themselves.
โ€‹
So is it all worth it?
โ€‹
When you see the smile on a clientโ€™s face after they reach their goal, and youโ€™re able to give back to a cause that genuinely changes lives.
โ€‹
To top it all off, I get to run a business in an area Iโ€™m completely obsessed with and genuinely passionate about, no superficial BS, no groundhog day.

100% itโ€™s worth it. Every single day.

Iโ€™m knackered after work, nine times out of ten the weatherโ€™s chucking it down, itโ€™s dark, and the last thing I want to do is get back in the car after a long day, barely see the family, just to go and view a property on the hope the agent might even consider putting my low offer across the table.

Surprise surprise, most of the time itโ€™s a straight no.
