It’s cosy.It’s calm.And it never feels too big to manage. (well sometimes it does 🤣)

I get to actually speak to everyone properly. You mooch around the shop, I have a chat, we discuss paint colours like it’s a life decision and suddenly we’re redesigning an entire room together 🤣

One of my favourite things is hearing all about your home renovation and decorating triumphs the before & afters, the “my husband/ wife/ partner / other half hated it but now loves it” updates. We need to trust we know best 🤣

I love giving all the dogs a fuss, chatting to the kids, helping you choose gifts, or just having a natter while you browse.

That’s the nice thing about a small shop.No pressure. No stress. No rushing.

Just come in, have a mooch, ask questions, get advice, sit outside with a cuppa and make yourself at home ( if you are having a cuppa bring me one too 🤣)

Pop in anytime, can’t guarantee it won’t be chaos but you are always very welcome

We all know that sometimes it feels cheaper, quicker and easier to shop online or head to a big retail park. Convenience matters, especially when life is busy. But every time we choose to spend even a small amount with a local business, we help strengthen the place we live.

Local businesses are far more likely to keep money circulating within the community. They employ local people, use local suppliers, support local charities, sponsor sports teams and help keep our high streets alive. That means more jobs, more opportunities and more vibrant towns and villages for everyone.

When independent shops disappear, communities can lose much more than just places to buy things. We lose character, personal service, local knowledge and the sense of connection that comes from knowing the people behind the businesses we use every day.

Shopping local doesn’t mean you have to do it all the time or avoid online shopping completely. It’s about balance. Even choosing to buy one coffee, one gift, one meal or one service locally each week can make a real difference when lots of people do the same.

Supporting local businesses is an investment in our own community — helping create stronger local economies, safer high streets and better places to live for future generations.
