First week of integration! 🤝🏽

After our big announcement last week, that Gallagher has acquired Barnes Commercial, here are George Wilkinson and Nick Long enjoying some of the new merch provided to us by the Gallagher team. Everyone here is so excited for the new opportunities to come with this acquisition!

Barnes Commercial are proud sponsors of the local under 13s football team, the Brampton Spartans. ⚽

The team recently participated in the Hunts Youth League and played alongside 10 other teams located around the Huntingdon, Peterborough, and March region. The Spartans finished fourth place in the league, with 13 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw. This equated to an incredible 68 goals scored over the course of the season.

A huge well done to every single one of the team players for an amazing season!

Our business is always trying to contribute to and support our local community, apart from picking a quarterly charity that we raise and donate money to, we like to invest into our future generation and encourage their development. As we continue to sponsor the Spartans we will take you along their journey!

Barnes tries out new tactics by introducing the 'Positivity Pad'!

We are constantly working to improve our employees wellbeing and mental health. This newly introduced approach focuses on finding positivity in each day and noting it down on the pad pictured below.

The benefits associated with journaling your day are endless, it can reduce stress, anxiety and even help with depression. More importantly this approach helps to cultivate gratitude in the small things. Which in turn can make a large impact on your outlook on life.

Scientific studies have shown us that gratitude even in small doses can improve self confidence, patience and resilience as well as reduce envy and jealousy in your life. If this is not a good enough reason to fill one of these out, we don't know what is!

The pad itself contains areas for gratitude, affirmations and goals which can help set you up for your day ahead in a positive manner. We encourage more businesses to incorporate similar approaches into their workforce!

Each quarter the Barnes team partners up with Lifesure, our sister company, to raise money for one specific charity.

Last quarter our of choice was the East Anglian Air Ambulance! Our way of fundraising is by organising 's in the office. This is a fun and inclusive way to get all staff involved for a good cause. We managed to raise over £500 for this amazing charity which provides helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) for the people of East Anglia. 🚁

This quarter we will be raising money for the Cliffdale Primary Academy🏫 Our goal is to help them fund a new sensory room for the school. Cliffdale is a primary special school for 196 pupils aged 2-11 years who have complex learning difficulties; over 70% of their pupils have autism and severe learning difficulties. This sensory room will help the children experience cognitively-stimulating experiences that help them process sensory inputs from the environment and learn how to react to them.

Yesterday, Barnes held a bake sale in the office in aid of the Cliffdale Primary Academy. 🍰🧁🍩

This is a fantastic cause, which we have chosen to support with fundraising events for the next few months!

A mix of delicious sweet and savoury delights were available, and we were extremely lucky to be graced with some celebrity individuals too! 😉

A big thank you to everyone in the office who contributed and donated!

You may already be aware that the care quality commission has recently carried out a pilot scheme for their move to a single assessment framework, with plans for a full rollout of the new framework this year. The new assessment framework aims to put emphasis on care integration, people's experiences, cultures of safety and learning. It also sets out an overall expectation that applies to all care providers universally, rather than assessment based on the service being administered.
