There's a bunch of Brits heading down to Australia this week.

To take part in the latest "I'm a Celebrity" TV show.

Which got us thinking about the thousands who will also be making the journey Down Under between now and Christmas (we're providing travel cover to many of them).

True Story 📱🌋⛑

Can you think of somewhere that's been hotter than Western Europe this week?

How about a volcano.

Well, one lucky (or is that unlucky?) tourist almost got a taste of a whole new type of heatwave last Saturday when he was rescued from INSIDE the crater of Vesuvius.

Yes, that's the volcano that destroyed ancient Pompeii back in AD79.

And how did he end up in there?

Performing one of modern life's most demanding tasks.

Yep, you guessed it - he dropped his phone after taking a selfie.

Now, TravelTime policies cover over 100 hazardous activities, but I'm not sure that we'll be adding "volcano selfies" to that list any time soon...

Well, that was a busy weekend: Wimbledon, British Grand Prix, Rugby, Test Match cricket...and the Women's Euros are just around the corner too.

The boss just told us that while he was at a friend's place for a "sports" BBQ, he was asked a few times when you should buy travel insurance.

He said he explained it in the following way:

SINGLE TRIP INSURANCE = NOW
ANNUAL MULTI TRIP INSURANCE = NOW

Why?

Because, from the moment you purchase your policy (right up until the day you start the trip) the money you paid for your holiday is protected if you can no longer travel because of an accident or becoming unexpectedly unwell.

And that's cancellation cover* explained in less time than it takes to grill a sausage.

*For annual policies, cancellation cover begins on the start date of the policy which must be within 31 days of when you buy it.

The GHIC has replaced the EHIC: what is it? 🤔

The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) has been replaced by the new UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC).

Because so many of our customers are planning long awaited European holidays this year, we have put together a list of answers to the 5 most frequently asked questions we receive about the GHIC.

The new UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) gives you access to state healthcare, such as emergency treatment at A&E or standard treatment for a long term medical condition, in a European Union country or Switzerland at a reduced cost or sometimes for free.
