We’re proud to share that Evlo was Highly Commended for Best Marketing Campaign at the Yorkshire Financial Awards 2026.

It’s a brilliant recognition for the team and the work that went into the campaign, especially in a strong category alongside organisations including Leeds Building Society and StepChange Debt Charity.

This recognition also reflects the incredible work of our branch teams, who represent the Evlo brand every single day through the service, support and experience they provide to customers across the country.

A special mention to our Chief Transformation Officer, Asif, and Partnerships Manager, Shaeeb, who were there on the night to collect the award on behalf of the team.

Our mission for is growing. 🏛️

We launched our campaign to fix the credit system and drive better financial policies for everyone. Today, we are expanding that mission to address a new challenge – the Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) market.

🔦 Calling out unfair tactics in debt help

IVAs can be the right solution for some people. But where they are unsuitable, unaffordable, or poorly explained, they can leave people worse off: locked into long-term repayment plans, paying significant fees, and still facing financial uncertainty if the arrangement fails.

Evlo has seen growing cause for concern in the IVA market, particularly where vulnerable customers may be directed towards solutions that are not sustainable for their circumstances. We believe people seeking help with debt should receive clear, balanced and properly regulated support.

What we’re doing:

✉️ We have written to Minister Blair McDougall MP to lead the charge for urgent reform.

🛑 We are demanding an end to the loopholes that let some firms involved in providing IVAs dodge the rules that apply to the rest of the financial sector.

👑 We are urging the Government to prioritise this reform in the forthcoming parliamentary session.

Our work to ensure your rent payments count toward your credit score continues as a core priority. We are maintaining our steady engagement with Westminster and will share further updates on this work as it progresses.

💭 At Evlo, we’ve been recognising Debt Awareness Week by spending time with colleagues, sharing tools, and strengthening how we support our customers.

📅 This week is a good reminder that small steps really do matter. Whether that’s putting together a budget, reaching out for advice, or just starting to face things head-on, every step counts.

📈 Financial situations can look different for everyone, and borrowing is often a normal part of managing life’s moments. National Debt Awareness Week is about making sure people have the understanding and support they need to make informed, confident choices.

Our Financial Freedom For Everyone campaign reached the floor of the House of Commons again this week. Following our recent meeting with the City Minister, SamCarling MP took our message directly to Treasury Topical Questions.

Sam highlighted a clear injustice: reliable renters are being blocked from homeownership simply because the system doesn’t recognise their largest monthly outgoing.

From the Hansard record (10 March 2026):

🗣️ Sam Carling MP: “Young people in North West Cambridgeshire and across the country are struggling to access mortgages and get on to the housing ladder due to thin credit files. Will the Minister explore requiring lettings agents and large landlords, with the consent of tenants, to report rental payment data to credit reference agencies so that a record of paying rent on time can contribute to tenants’ credit histories and help them access mortgages?”

💬 Minister Lucy Rigby: “I know how passionate my hon. Friend is about the Government’s priority to get more first-time buyers on to the housing ladder. As he and I have discussed before, people looking to buy a home can build their credit history through rent payments by using third-party services that report these things to credit reference agencies. I think that he and I would agree that better awareness of such services and the mortgages available that take account of tenants’ rental payments would be a good thing.”

At Evlo, we’re proud to lead this conversation. Awareness is a start, but we won’t stop until we see a common-sense system that works for all 5.4 million private renters in the UK.

We are continuing to work with policymakers to drive the legislative changes needed to push progress on rental data and financial inclusion.

We’ve recently worked with Plain Numbers to review some of our highest-impact customer communications, with one goal: to make financial information clearer, so more people can understand it and act with confidence. 🤝💬

When people are confused by financial communications, it can lead to poorer outcomes and less engagement. That matters even more when around half of adults have numeracy skills at a primary school level or below, and many people feel anxious when working with numbers. 📉🧠

Plain Numbers use an evidence-based methodology that brings together numbers, language and behavioural science, and research shows it can double the number of customers who understand a communication when applied well. 📊🔍

Using the Plain Numbers review as a framework, we’re focusing on:

• Clearer information hierarchy (what customers most need, first). 🧭
• More human, supportive language (less jargon). 💚
• Stronger action framing (including when “no action” is the right message).

Because financial inclusion isn’t just about access, it’s about understanding. 🎯
