This has been a huge week of reflection and has allowed me to see myself and the women I support with a clearer, truer lens.
We tend to move through three identity movements: Emerging, Expanding and Elevating.
Each one changes how we feel, how we behave and how the world responds to us.
Emerging is the quiet beginning.
It shows up in small shifts: becoming more reflective, pulling back from what once felt comfortable, sensing misalignment that is hard to name.
Emotionally, it feels tender and restless.
Her world feels slightly out of rhythm, as if something new is forming beneath the surface.
Expanding is the stretch.
Her behaviour widens into new roles and braver decisions. She shows up differently in familiar spaces.
Emotionally, she holds vulnerability and pride at the same time.
Her world is widening: becoming a mother, navigating divorce, returning to herself after caring for parents, stepping into senior roles, founding businesses, reshaping her career.
Elevating is the altitude.
Her behaviour becomes clear and intentional. She communicates with confidence and holds boundaries with ease.
Emotionally, she feels steady and ready.
Her world becomes more complex. She needs peers, advisors, collaboration and support networks that match her level.
I can even recognise these stages in my own home. My son is Emerging as he finishes primary school. My daughter is Expanding as finishes her first year in secondary school. I am Elevating into the work I am meant to do next. And it’s so clear we all need the right support to guide us through these natural transitions.
In September, I am so excited to finally be guiding warm, honest, true spaces for women in each of these movements.
Perhaps over the summer, you could take a moment to consider where you are, and contemplate stepping into a space with me that meets you where your at ❤️
