🏉 That’s a wrap on our Mini Rugby journey!
This weekend marked our U12's final festival as a Mini’s team — and what a way to finish! Both squads were outstanding, showing just how far they've come this season. Thanks to Winnington for forming a barbarians team and all the teams for some fantastic rugby.

Coaches from other clubs even came over to praise how well we played — a true credit to the team’s spirit, skill, and hard work 💪

The “big cheque” moment!

A slightly belated post, but 2 months after landing back from our fundraising trip to Cambodia, we wanted to take a moment to shout about the incredible amount you helped us raise last year. If you’d have told us when we signed up to the challenge in April that we’d hit anything close to this we wouldn’t have believed you - we had a few wobbles along the way! What a year we had. From the bottom of our hearts, and from those at , thank you 💙💛💙💛

The People 🙂

For me personally (Liam 🙂), I’ve been so happy that we hit our target, raised for a great cause and completed a very difficult challenge. We’ve seen some amazing things and been to some amazing places, but the memories for me are all about who we met along the way. I feel privileged to have shared the experience with these people!

Tom - our GAC leader, always checking in to make sure we’re ok and lift spirits with a joke

Ruth and Bee - sooo easy to talk to and such happy people. Always worth a chat if you needed your spirit lifting. And swimming in the river with Bee was one of my highlights of the week

Michelle - such a colourful person and beautiful with it! Tattoo inspiration if I ever get one!

Graham and Ryan - just the coolest and nicest people. Always cracking jokes and making us laugh

Moira - organised, determined and on point every time

Pam, Steve and Tania - talk about digging deep and getting the job done. And Pam’s laugh is infectious! Especially after a glass of red 😀

Scarlett and Melissa - called us the naughty kids but we know who it really was! Always telling stories, cracking jokes and bringing the smiles

Jez - the most humble person I’ve ever met. The CV on this guy and a true adventurer. I’m inspired and my next challenge will be informed by our chats

Helen and Guy - I don’t really know what to say here, words wont capture it. Just fantastic/amazing people that I can’t wait to see when Guy lands back. Playing incoherent, winding Helen up - just kept me smiling! And Gullible Guy, the ladies fell in love with instantly - just an incredible nature

Craig and LJ - our partners in crime 🤗 Craig looking after people, and with the jokes. LJ, the biggest smile and nicest person. Spent a lot of time chatting with these guys, such much love for them!

And last but certainly not least - Leanne!
The perfect adventure buddy. Patient, resilient, painfully funny. To watch someone so far out of their comfort zone completely own it, embrace it and smash it the way she did was just brilliant to watch. Nothing concerned her, embraced every opportunity to take on the full experience and shied away from nothing. Our very own Dora!!x

Day 6 (part 1): Trek 5

The Final Push!
An emotional start to the day as we said thank you, and goodbye to a lot of the support crew. The final walk was more ceremonial than challenging despite the heat. A final 4km push through rice paddies was quite quiet as we reflected on what was an incredible trip. Our next stop, Angkor Wat!

What a week! Well we’re still recovering but we made it to Angkor Wat raising over £7,500 in the process 🥳

To say it was tough would be an understatement. We walked 108km in total, in heat at times in excess of 38 degrees and >85% humidity. No showers or working toilets for a week, camping with night time temperatures of over 27 degrees, and covered in bug bites, we made it!

One thing that we’re still wrestling with is the lifestyle difference and what we take for granted here. Meeting people earning and living off $6 a day to feed their families has been difficult to process. Their positivity and how grateful they were for tiny gestures will stay with us for a while (have a look at this beautiful girl delighted because Leanne gave her 4 coloured pencils 🥹).

A very tough, but fantastic trip!
