It's been a couple of Fridays since our last meeting, but we're back with a roundup!

Robert has been out and about, meeting the guys from Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce - particularly Sally who is credited for all his photography! 📸

Sam was a guest speaker at the Chamber's Director's Lunch this week alongside a great panel. He spoke about his style (not in clothing but as a manager - we all know he just likes shorts!), approach and growth as a leader. A great afternoon meeting with too many great people to tag.

Karen and Tom were at Wath Academy for a Y12 networking session. A great afternoon with some students with incredible potential. 🏫

Paul, Tom and Will have been out with some "extended" members of at the Paces five a side tournament today. Sadly, a penalty shoot out in the quarter finals got the better of them so no trophies for us this year. 😭 Thanks for the helping us get this far Chris, Chris, Scott and Josh. We'll be back - better than ever!

It's Friday so let's have a roundup! 🤠

Last week, Tom attended the South Yorkshire Chambers networking event at Ponds Forge. We were all disappointed that he didn't get a photo of him diving off the 10m board, but we're all assured he did it!

Also last week, Karen and Paul attended the Wath Academy Mock Interview day, talking to their Y10 students about their future career aspirations. What a clued up lot! It's fair to say we didn't have the same vision at their age.

Louise also carried out a Mental Health First Aid refresher course with RNN Group. Always a great session, honing existing skills.

Last weekend, Paul was a guest of the Aviva team at the UFC bout in London's O2 arena. An incredible experience - amazing hospitality from the team and entertainment all around.

This week, Tom and Kirsty went along to the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce's expo event at the Canon Medical Arena. Great to catch up with so many local connections and have meaningful discussions. Kirsty even managed to enter a draw for completing a golf putt which Tom failed to do! Look out world, Actus has a new golf prodigy! 🏌‍♀️

On Tuesday, Karen caught up with ▶️ Matthew from Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce to talk all things Marketing. Great to have lots of irons in the fire, looking at how we can work together more collaboratively going forward.

Also on Tuesday, Louise joined a Murder Mystery Evening at Wake Smith Solicitors. 🔎 She is now an all around Miss Marple, having solved the goings-on!

Tom might be beaten on the golf front, but he's enjoying his time with the SHEFFIELD BUSINESS PADEL guys at Club de Padel. Great turnout with a fantastic bunch of people followed up by a social event. Can't wait for the next one!

It's finally Friday so it's time for a roundup! 🤠

On Tuesday, Paul, Ben and Selinay attended the Intact Trading Day in their office in Leeds. A great opportunity for our team to meet the insurers they all deal with on a daily basis. And we're also told some great food was had!

Later on Tuesday, the Actus dream team of Sam, Karen and Will attended the annual Charity Chamber Quiz. With a rocky start, they still managed to come joint first! Sadly, joint first is not a position accepted so a tie break question was asked and we failed to win at that point. However an overall score of 94/100 is not to be sniffed at - particularly when we had the smallest team there!

Yesterday, Tom attended the Doncaster Business Showcase - an incredible opportunity to mix and mingle with the fine people of Donny. Another great event with some great discussions.

And as we have all worked incredibly hard this week, (month and year to date!) today was chippy Friday courtesy of the business. A nice way to round off February as we head into a very busy few months ahead.

Some big changes are coming in April as part of the Employment Rights Act 2025 and changes to Statutory Sick Pay is possibly one of the most impactful.

Another Friday is here (and this one is the 13th! - anyone superstitious out there?) so it's time for a roundup.

Last week, Louise enjoyed a wine tasting event with the lovely people at Wake Smith. Another fabulous night with some great discussion - and great tipples! Later in the week, she also joined the CIPD Crafting Better Work Event. Some great ideas and always good to meet up with so many likeminded people.

Also last week, Paul and Nicola met up with one of our clients for a renewal discussion. To say we're always working hard to protect our clients is fair - even if it's under an Actus branded umbrella to get out of the rain!

This week, Selinay joined the Insurance Institute of Sheffield for pre-AGM planning. Always great to catch up with other industry professionals in an informal setting - especially when creme brulee is involved! Already looking forward to the AGM next month.

And just in case you didn't see it, this week we arranged our next HR update seminar looking at the new Employment Law coming in April. Friday has rolled around again so it's time for a roundup! 🤠

This week has been a busy one for . On Tuesday, the team had a visit from Michelle from C-Quence get a better understanding of their policies for Management Liability. A really useful session - thanks for coming to visit!

Also on Tuesday, Tom attended another fantastic session with the Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce at a Level Up Your Linked In masterclass. We're all expecting great things on his profile going forward. 👀

On Thursday, we finally had the entire team together to have a team lunch at The Old George in Fox Valley. Great way to celebrate Robert's first month on the team.

Also on Thursday, Louise attended the You Said, We Did event with the South Yorkshire Chambers. Great opportunity to be in a room full of business owners who are like minded and discuss the local factors affecting our industries.
