Our bottle banks are now available for use again, thanks to our hard-working teams and assistance from Countrystyle Recycling Ltd.

🔘 What is the main purpose of SE Rural Charitable Trust?
💬 To raise monies by holding 20 charity rides during the autumn / winter that provide great fun whilst raising monies. Providing fun is a big part of what we do. All monies raised are collected into our “gifting pot” which is disbursed in March each year. Our official charitable objectives are “the advancement of health or saving of lives”.

🔘 When and why was the charity formed?
💬 29 January 2021, to raise monies that we can grant to other local registered charities that do incredible work and meet our charitable objectives. In recent years we have also supported national registered charities such as Anthony Nolan. We also support our local branch of Riding for the Disabled, whilst this is a national charity we are able to focus our support locally.

🔘 What areas of the community do you serve?
💬 We provide great fun on horseback for those that come on our charity rides. Many of our regular riders tell us what an escape from the trials and tribulations of life our rides are. Whilst we don’t target any areas of the community as such, the grants we give to the charities we support of course benefit all those that access those charities. The local hospices that we support are especially important to the Trustees. They do such incredible work in our local community.
East Sussex Farmers Benevolent fund is another charity that we are extremely proud to support. Our farmers, whose land we cross each week on our charity rides, are so important to us. East Sussex Farmers Benevolent Fund supports farmers in times of difficulty.

50 years of changing lives through farming, nature, and the countryside 🌱

As Farms for City Children celebrates its 50th anniversary, the charity has received a £50,000 grant from the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust.

Since 1976, Farms for City Children has given thousands of young people the opportunity to experience life on a working farm, helping them build confidence, develop new skills - all while connecting with the countryside.

The grant forms part of more than £424,000 awarded by the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust in its first round of donations for 2026, supporting charities that make a positive difference to agriculture, rural communities, and the countryside across the UK.
