This is a excellent picture taken by Doris Drainpipe of the mating Peregrines, are there any vets out there please, that might diagnose the wound on the females eye.

Just to keep you all up-to-date. The male Peregrine is still in residence and has had the company of a juvenile female last year and this year. We believe the female is a two year old bird ,so might be capable of laying this year. To complicate things further an adult female was seen mating with the male this week! This bird has badly injured left eye .There has been no nesting behaviour reported yet by either female. So fingers crossed! however its getting a little late on for nesting .

No sign of any Peregrines today just Fulmers looking for a room with a view!!

A visit on Bank Holiday Monday found the male looking to the skys for the young female ! She was close by, but made no appearance despite the male calling for her very loudly. No sign of any breeding behaviour again. The male enjoyed a hearty meal while the female was away!

Some pictures we took yesterday, the young female was looking splended yesterday and but in not very good light . No sign of any incubation or selecting of a scrape so maybe not a lot of hope of a clutch this year .The male was giving the Wood Pigeon the once over fancying it for his lunch.

These amazing pictures were taken this morning by Joe Bamfield thanks for letting us share them Joe. The normal nesting procedures are still going ahead, the male and female passing food to each other. We will have to wait and see if the young female is up to the job of laying and raising the chicks.

Latest update the current juvenile female Peregrine that has been here for some time is not ringed, so it would not be the Wakefield bird. After some research it seems it is possible for a second year bird in juvenile plumage to breed! They were seen mating this week! So keep everything crossed 😀

12 years ago seems like yesterday!! Don't think is going to happen this year!
