This wasn’t the life I expected… and sharing this here has just got me a little. 😔
But I wanted to speak to all of you directly.

Some of you know me, but some may not, so let me introduce myself properly.

Hi, I’m Michelle - Damian’s wife - and this is me with our daughter Scarlett (10). As many of you will know, we sadly lost Damian in July 2024 after his battle with cancer at just 44.

Over the last 16 months, I’ve learned first-hand just how vital Personal Protection is. It has quite literally kept our lives stable during the hardest time we will ever face.

If you ever spoke to Damian, you’ll remember how passionate he was about protection - making sure people understood why it matters and how it can change everything when life throws the unimaginable at you.

And with that in mind, I’ve made a big decision:
I’m stepping forward to continue his legacy as a Protection & Insurance Adviser.

Most of you know me personally, but today I wanted to share a little more about the new chapter I’m stepping into — and why it matters to me. 💚

As many of you know, losing Damian so young turned my life upside down and inside out. One of the many things I have learnt through this experience is just how important it is to have the right protection in place. It has given me and Scarlett stability at a time when everything else feels uncertain.

That’s why I’ve trained to become an Insurance & Protection Adviser. My mission is simple:

As many of you know, we are heartbroken to share that Damian sadly recently passed away, and therefore this page will soon be taken down.

Before it’s closed, We (Damian’s family) would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported him over the years. Since becoming a Mortgage and Protection Adviser at Peace of Mind Financial Solutions Ltd, Damian was dedicated to helping his clients find the best mortgage and protection deals for their unique circumstances. He truly enjoyed getting to know each of you along the way.

If there’s one thing we’d like for you to take from this, it’s to make sure your insurance policies are up to date and reflect your current needs. Life doesn’t always go as planned, and it’s important to be prepared, if you can be. If you feel your policies may need a review or you’d like to explore your options, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your adviser or the main office. Please don’t put it off—tomorrow isn’t promised. 💔

As some of you might have noticed I have been quiet on here for a little while.
The reason is that just before Christmas, I received a diagnosis of Oesophageal Cancer. For the last 5 weeks, I have been travelling to and from Castle Hill Hospital Monday - Friday to receive chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment.

Luckily, I have had little side effects, and I have still been able to work away in the background while being supported by my brilliant colleagues at Peace of Mind Financial Solutions Ltd .
Today, I received this very thoughtful card and treat from Hunters, who I have been working along side since the start of the year and who have also been incredibly understanding and supportive. Big thank you to my colleague Marie, who is doing a fantastic job of looking after Hunters while I am unable to be in the office in person.

I still have a while to go and further treatment to have, but I want to reassure everyone I am still here and I am working so please do not hesitate to contact me!

Also, a gentle reminder to PLEASE check your critical illness and income protection policies. Don't think 'It won't happen to me' or 'I'll do it later', because it has happened to me and later might be too late!

Scarlett's Chop For Charity 💇🏻‍♀️

This Saturday, the 17th February my 8 and a half year old daughter - Scarlett is having her haircut to donate to The Little Princess Trust in Scarlett's words - 'To help children who have lost their hair because of the medication and treatment for cancer. I want to try and help make them feel better and more like themselves again!'

If anyone feels like they would like to donate to 'Scarlett's Chop For Charity' please follow the link below, all money raised goes straight to The Little Princess Trust. Each wig cost £500 to make and each fitting is £150, so we would love to raise a little money as well as donating her hair to help a child feel a little more 'like themselves'.

On the 12th January, we celebrated our successes and achievements of 2023, at our annual Gala Dinner & Awards night.
A big thank you to Leah and the team at The Mayfield, who gave us all a wonderful evening.
We have a great team at Peace of Mind Financial Solutions Limited, who work hard in these difficult times, to always strive to do what is best for our clients.
