News just in! *** If you can fix for 145% above todays price (not the October cap), then my advice is to fix***

The price cap has been set. It’s extremely likely it’ll go up in January and again in April. If you add those percentages up and add it onto your current tariff, what do you come out with. UW fixed is currently 85% meaning if you are offered a fix, seriously consider it.

If you’re currently on a low fixed, you won’t get another low fix when that ends. Message me to find out if I can help you before the cap is introduced in around 4 weeks time.

Thought I’d post some tips to help you keep your energy payments in check:

*Choose paperless bills and manage your account online (some companies charge extra for paper bills)

*Pay by direct debit. This is usually cheaper than paying when you receive a bill

*Send regular meter readings to keep your bill accurate. If you have a smart meter, it will do this automatically

*Question any direct debit increases that seem too high. Your energy company should be able to explain the changes and your usage and payments should balance out over a year.

With ever increasing prices, you need to do all you can to stay on top of it all. Don’t just cancel your payments, that won’t help you at all. If you’re struggling, seek advice from people such as Money Advice and Citizens Advice Bureau.

Review your energy/utility bills. Cheap energy deals have disappeared over the last several months so for most people, it's not a good time to switch energy provider.

If you haven't switched your supplier or tariff recently, or were moved to a new provider when yours closed, you'll probably be paying out-of-contract rates (also known as a variable or default tariff). Historically, these haven't been very good value, but they're now among the cheapest tariffs so it's maybe worth staying put for the moment.
Which Magazine have a tool which can help you see what’s on the market now, but pleased be advised prices and tariffs are changing very quickly at the present time.

Which? works for you reviewing products and services, so that you make the best purchase decisions for your needs.

Would you like to pay a fixed price for your utilities until at least July next year?

The latest quote from me came out at £286 per month, for energy fixed until 31st July ’23 (potential to change in the next few days, only £25 per fuel exit fees if necessary), home phone, award winning broadband, an unlimited mobile sim (runs on EE) and a bill protector in case you’re u able to work for any reason.
