As our Managing Director, Matt has played a huge role in shaping the business, leading the team and helping Casterbridge continue to grow and evolve over the years. His drive, leadership and enthusiasm have been a constant part of our journey.

Seven years is a fantastic milestone, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything Matt has brought to Casterbridge and for everything still to come!

We’re delighted to welcome Emma Carr to the Casterbridge team as our new Office Manager & Executive Support.

Emma joins us with extensive experience across a range of roles, most recently spending over 10 years as a Legal Secretary, supporting senior partners across Corporate & Commercial and Charities teams at a local law firm.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys reading, creative writing, travelling to America to visit family, and spending time with her grey cat, Saffron 🐾, who joined her from a farm at just four weeks old during lockdown.

With her wealth of experience and strong organisational skills, we’re looking forward to having Emma as part of the team and wish her every success in her new role.

💻 Giving old technology a new purpose

We’re pleased to be supporting the work of Wiltshire Digital Drive, helping unwanted technology find a new home within our local community.

Following a recent review of our old and unused IT equipment, EcoTech IT collected our laptops and desktop computers, securely destroying all data in line with the appropriate regulatory requirements before assessing what could be reused or recycled.

We’re delighted that eight laptops have been saved and will be donated to Wiltshire Digital Drive, where they can be refurbished and help support people and organisations in need of access to technology. The remaining equipment will be broken down and recycled wherever possible, with nothing going to landfill.

Access to technology is something many of us take for granted, yet local schools and families can still face shortages of suitable devices, with some children having to share equipment to complete schoolwork at home.

Initiatives such as Wiltshire Digital Drive demonstrate how technology that may no longer be needed by one business can make a genuine difference elsewhere.

A huge thank you to Wiltshire Digital Drive for the work they do to help close the digital divide, and to EcoTechIT for helping businesses dispose of unwanted technology securely, responsibly and sustainably.

If your business has laptops, computers or other IT equipment gathering dust, it may be worth considering whether they could be securely recycled or given a second life too.

For years, some wealth managers have been
"double-dipping" - charging clients for holding cash while also keeping some or all of the interest earned on their cash balances.

The FCA has said it will ban the practice for platforms and discretionary wealth managers, which is great news. Because being transparent about fees and charges is central to treating clients fairly.
At Casterbridge, we've never taken a share of the interest earned on client cash.
