With September being Su***de Prevention Month, we wanted to reflect on the mental health awareness training our team recently completed with our friends at Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust 💚

Conversations around mental health can make a real difference. By continuing to learn and challenge stigma, we can help create a community where people feel heard, supported and able to speak openly.

A huge thank you to the Healthy n Happy team for such an insightful and valuable session.

We must all come together to end violence against women and girls.

We need services that are more proactive in supporting victims, a justice system that protects them, and a culture that challenges harmful attitudes.

As First Minister, I will give this my personal leadership.

We’re genuinely in awe that Scottish icon Annie Lennox has chosen to share and support the It’s Time campaign.

A tireless activist and campaigner for human rights and social justice, Annie founded The Circle to create opportunities for women and allies to work together for change.

To have Annie use her voice to support It’s Time and help shine a light on violence against women and girls means so much to us.

We sincerely thank Annie for supporting this important campaign. It’s Time. 🤝

As part of the It’s Time campaign with The Sunday Post, we’re incredibly grateful to the politicians and public figures who have chosen to stand up and support the call to end violence against women and girls.

A special thank you to Katrina Murray MP for Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch, Paul Sweeney MSP and Clare Haughey for Rutherglen, Cambuslang & Blantyre for lending your voices and standing with us on this important issue.

Change takes all of us, and support from people who can help shape policy, influence conversations and drive action is so important.

Thank you Katrina, Paul and Clare for being part of It’s Time. 🤝

It’s time. As co-founder of The Circle I’m proud to take part in The Sunday Post’s new “It’s Time” campaign to end violence against women and girls in Scotland.

This initiative brings together public figures, employers, government and communities to confront the root causes of an epidemic that too often stays hidden.
It’s estimated that out of 348,000 violent attacks against women in Scotland each year, only One in Six are ever reported.

Change begins when we start recognising the hidden secret that’s taking place across the country!
