𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜’𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 🌳

I’m rebranding Honey Financial Solutions Ltd and I’m stuck between two versions of my new logo. I can’t decide, so I’m asking you.

The logo is a tree, and it’s there for a reason. I’m a mortgage and protection adviser based here in South Yorkshire, helping people right across the UK. Whatever I’m helping with, whether that’s a mortgage, life insurance, home insurance, or flagging issues around retirement and estate planning, it all comes back to the same thing: feeling rooted and safe in your home.

The branches stand for how life changes and grows, through divorce, separation, new beginnings and everything in between. The roots stay put.

𝗪𝗲'𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀! 🎉

I've been going since I was 18 and it has changed loads over the years. Now we get to experience it with our adult kids, who are older now than I was when I started going. How did that happen? 😂

I've never been one to go back to the same place twice, because I want to see as much of the world as I can. Glastonbury is an exception, and for 2027, I'm made up. ❤️

Late last year I started working with Bizology with Jo Soley, and honestly, it's been one of the best decisions I've made for Honey Financial Solutions.

What I love about working with Jo is that there's no blueprint. No "here's the ten steps every business owner must follow" approach. She takes the time to understand me — my strengths, the way my brain works, what actually motivates me — and helps me build a business that fits around that, rather than trying to squeeze me into someone else's version of success.

As a mortgage and protection adviser based in South Yorkshire, I spend my working life helping people (particularly those going through divorce or separation) navigate huge life changes with clarity and confidence. It's been humbling to be on the other side of that for once — being the one guided, rather than doing the guiding.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻! 🎉

Last week I headed off to TMG Mortgage Network annual expo, and honestly, it's one of my favourite dates in the calendar.

The night before kicked off with a social meal with lenders, providers, TMG staff and fellow advisers from across the network - the kind of catch up where you realise everyone's just as busy (and just as passionate about their clients) as you are. Then the expo itself, a full day of presentations, keynote speakers, awards and pitch battles, alongside plenty of chatting with lenders and providers about their latest products and how they can help my clients get the right mortgage or protection cover for their situation.

It was extra special this year too, as we were celebrating TMG's 5th birthday! 🎂 Nine years into running Honey Financial Solutions Ltd, and I still get such a boost from days like this - being surrounded by people who genuinely want to do right by their clients.

Being part of a strong network like TMG means I've got direct access to a huge range of lenders and providers, which matters when I'm helping clients across South Yorkshire and the rest of the UK find a mortgage that actually fits their circumstances - especially those going through a divorce or separation who need someone who understands the bigger picture, not just the numbers.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗜 𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. I understood what I needed to do — I just couldn't seem to make it stick 🤷♀️

Then a few years back I was listening to a podcast and they started talking about numerology. Something in me just went "I need to know more about this."

So I did. And slowly I've started to understand how it's shaped things in my life, without me ever realising at the time. There's something really comforting about being able to look back and understand the what and the when.

I know some people will think it's a bit daft, and honestly? I really don't mind. If you've found something that helps you make sense of things and it's not hurting you or anyone else, why not use it. I think it's brilliant when someone finds their thing that helps them get through life — especially in this bonkers world we're all navigating at the minute 💛

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 📥 𝗺𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘅 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲.

Nine years of running Honey Financial Solutions Ltd, and somehow email management is still the thing I haven't cracked. Between client updates, lender correspondence, and general life admin, it just... piles up.

As part of my Q4 business refresh I'm making a proper effort to get on top of it, once and for all. Not just a one-off clear-out, but actual habits that stick.

𝗪𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿, so one of the things I paused was signing back up for the next round of my group PT. It felt like a step backwards at first.

But I haven't stopped. I'm still at the gym three times a week, working on the areas I know need the most attention these days. I'm planning to touch base with my PT soon too, just to make sure I'm doing everything correctly — no point rushing something and undoing all the good work.

My focus now is long-term. Looking after the parts of my body that are starting to show a bit of wear and tear (the joys of being 50+, which I still can't quite get my head around some days 😅). I want my body to stay fit and strong for years to come, not just for the next few weeks.

𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? 𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Self-employed and going through a separation? A couple of things worth knowing: there's often no employer sick pay to fall back on if illness stops you working, and business finances can end up more tangled with household ones than you'd expect. Both are worth untangling and reviewing early.

𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲. Weekends are family time. But everyone had their own plans this weekend, so instead of it feeling like a "day off gone wrong," it made sense to sit down and use it properly.

I put the hours into my Q4 refresh plan for Honey Financial Solutions Ltd - the stuff that's been sat on my to-do list for what felt like ages. Nothing glamorous, just steady, deliberate progress. But by the end of it I'd actually got through things I kept telling myself I "hadn't done again."

Turns out ticking those off did more for my head than another weekend of carrying them around unfinished. I run this business as a mortgage and protection adviser based in South Yorkshire, and if nine years in has taught me anything, it's that you just have to actually sit down and do the work sometimes. 💪

𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲. 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻. 🙈

I've done this a few times now and somehow always end up back in zombie-scrolling mode without even realising it.

This time the thought hit properly — what am I doing wasting my precious time on this earth staring at rubbish? App deleted before I'd even finished the thought.

I can still get on it via my laptop and work phone, but it takes a conscious effort now rather than just habit. My screen time's dropped by an hour a day already. An hour! What was I even doing with that time, and did any of it actually benefit me? Not really.

The mad thing is how easy it is to get sucked into something without ever being conscious of it happening. My brain still automatically reaches for it on my phone out of pure habit, then I catch myself mid-scroll like 🤯 oh, there it is again.

Eyes open, brain engaged. My new question before I open anything now: does this actually benefit me, or someone else?

Anyone else done the delete-reinstall cycle more times than they'd like to admit? 😅
