Firstly, thank you to everyone for your kind comments, cards and gifts after the arrival of our son, Otto, last week! We’re very grateful!

I’d also like to thank all my clients for your ongoing support once again this year. When I first became an adviser 8 years ago, I had no idea I’d be as lucky to have the clients that I do that come back to me for for ongoing work, and also recommend their friends, family and colleagues to me. It’s a real pleasure and without you and your support, I wouldn’t be able to help as many people as I do.

As for the year ahead, I’ll be back in January with a bang! I already have a few of you booked in so I’ll be looking forward to catching up with you then.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas. Enjoy and relax. All the best for 2026 and see you all in the New Year!!

So some of you may have noticed that I’ve been a little difficult to get hold of the last few days. Here’s a picture of the reason why! My wife gave birth to Otto Jeremy Braithwait at 9.41am yesterday morning! Mum and baby are fine, Dad is over the moon!!

I will get round to responding to my messages and emails before Christmas so please bear with me and sorry for the delay!!

In other news, the Bank of England have reduced the base rate from 4% to 3.75%!

If you’re on a tracker or variable rate, your rate will reduce soon - your lender will confirm.

If you are on a fixed rate, your rate will stay the same

This is a positive step. I’ve been saying for years that older children should be taught about budgeting finances and mortgages. This can put people in even better stead for the future.

Ministers are making the changes for children in England after a review of what is taught in schools.

This might be an interesting Monday morning read for anyone planning on buying or selling. Some proposed reforms that are designed to save people money and hopefully cut the time it takes to getting the keys. It also looks like they’re planning to tie people in sooner so people can’t pull out of a planned purchase at the last minute….

🛑🛑 BREAKING NEWS!! THE BANK OF ENGLAND HAVE CUT THE BASE RATE!!! 🛑🛑

As expected, The Bank of England have cut the base rate from 4.25% to 4.00%. This is the third reduction this year, but what does this mean for homeowners with a mortgage? 🤔

If you are on a variable rate or tracker rate, your mortgage repayments will come down! 😄

If you are on a fixed rate, you will remain on that rate until it expires 👍

This is good news for homeowners with a mortgage or for people wanting to get on the property ladder as rates are continuing you drop!
