Our team recently visited XQ7, a residential development in Manchester, where a balcony remediation project has been completed by installer QFF (Quality Fast Facades).

The specification for this project was our Lite Board, an A-Rated aluminium decking board designed specifically with remediation and retrofit applications in mind. Fire-rated to A2-s1,d0 and A2fl-s1, the Lite Board is slip-resistant, low-maintenance, and comes with a 30-year manufacturer product warranty and a minimum 60-year expected lifespan, aligning with the design life of the buildings it serves.

For XQ7, the Lite Board was supplied as a custom extruded length, tailored precisely to the project. Producing boards to the exact lengths required removes on-site cutting and eliminates material waste, which is better for the environment and delivers cost savings for the project.

Residents at XQ7 now benefit from safe, compliant, and attractive balcony spaces for decades to come.

AliDeck is committed to manufacturing products that are in compliance with and exceed all relevant safety legislation. We have recently re-tested our Slip Resistance across our whole range of aluminium decking boards, in wet and dry conditions.

To get the best results, and to reflect real world scenarios, the testing was done twice, using different pendulum rubbers to reflect both bare feet and footwear.

A score of less than 25 represents a High Slip Risk
25-35 represents a Moderate Slip Risk
A score greater than 35 represents a Low Slip Risk

All of AliDeck's decking boards scored greater than 35 in all conditions, which earned us a Low Slip Risk rating. The latest results improve on our previously published figures, with full data sheets available on our website.

Having a Low Slip Risk rating, gives customers peace of mind that no matter the weather, or footwear, they will be safe stepping onto their decking.
