The new dividend tax of 7.5% on all dividend payouts over £5000 p.a. started from 6th April 2016. Many one person company directors are getting "stung" for this tax. Talk to me if you want to find out a legal way around this extra tax.

A new client had a bad experience with his previous accountants. A year ago he told them he needed to take £40,000 out of his company but they didn't ask him whether this was salary or a dividend, and then they later advised HMRC that it was a loan. This led to a tax charge by HMRC of 25% of the amount he borrowed from his company. We have now resolved this and our client will receive this tax back from HMRC. Great result for him.

Just had an enquiry from a man who had cashed in his pension fund, in accordance with the new rules, and he was caught out by HMRC because he didn't know he would be charged so much tax. He had 40% deducted !! Fortunately he found us and we will probably get at least 50% of this back for him.
