This week’s been another busy one at Ashgrove House, with plenty going on for our residents to enjoy.

We started the week with Arts & Crafts, where residents spent the morning getting creative and having a good chat over a cuppa. We also marked Milk Day with some reminiscing in the afternoon, sharing memories and stories from years gone by.

Our Knitting Group was as popular as ever on Tuesday, followed by one of our regular outings. Back at Ashgrove, residents enjoyed a lively game of Play Your Cards Right, with plenty of friendly competition!

Wednesday morning brought lots of laughter during our parachute games, before we welcomed Bob for an afternoon of entertainment. It was lovely to see so many residents singing along and enjoying the music.

On Thursday we celebrated National Cheese Day with a cheese tasting session and a themed word search. Earlier in the day, Music & Movement helped everyone stay active while having fun.

A highlight of Friday was a visit from Snowball the PAT dog, who was delighted to receive plenty of fuss and attention from residents. We also enjoyed another trip out before spending the afternoon playing games together.

This weekend we’re marking D-Day, taking time to remember those who served and sacrificed. Residents have enjoyed sharing memories, taking part in discussions and joining in with a sing-along and cream tea as we reflect on this important moment in history.

As always, thank you to our volunteers, entertainers, visitors and staff who help make every week at Ashgrove so enjoyable for our residents.

Another lovely week at Ashgrove House! ☀️

We’ve had another busy week filled with activities, laughter and good company. Residents enjoyed arts and crafts, knitting, colouring, music and movement, sensory activities and plenty of games throughout the week.

Our trips out were a highlight as always, giving everyone the chance to enjoy a change of scenery and make the most of the warmer weather. 🚐🌳

Thursday afternoon brought a lively game of bingo, brilliantly called by our Duke of Edinburgh volunteer, George. There was lots of excitement around the room and a few lucky winners too! 🎉

A big thank you to Rachael and Carol for giving up their time to support our knitting group. Their help and company are always appreciated. 🧶❤️

We’d also like to thank Elite Juniors and Teens Kickboxing with Emma for their visit to the home this week. It was lovely to welcome them and their visit brought plenty of smiles to our residents. 🥊❤️

To round off the week, we celebrated Biscuit Day with some tasty treats and a fun quiz, which went down a treat! 🍪😊

We’ve had a great week at Ashgrove ☀️

We’ve really enjoyed the sunshine and getting outside when we can – it’s made such a difference to everyone’s mood. As always, we’ve been out on a couple of trips which the residents loved.

Plenty going on in the home too – Coffee Chat and Nails, Balloon Tennis, Target Golf, knitting group, puzzles and dominoes. Lots of laughs and keeping both minds and bodies active.

We also had a nice sensory morning and music and music movement session, and a big highlight was the male choir coming in – such a good atmosphere 🎶

Also a big well done to George, our Duke of Edinburgh volunteer, who’s completed his practice expedition ready for the real one in June – go on George, we’re all behind you 👏

Happy May everyone 🌸

We’ve had another really nice week here at Ashgrove, with a good mix of activities and plenty going on.

We started with some favourites like hymns, knitting and coffee mornings, giving residents time to relax, chat and enjoy each other’s company. We also had board games and individual activities, keeping everyone involved in their own way.

Moving into April, residents got creative making our April banner and decorating Easter eggs and biscuits — lots of smiles and great results all round. Music and movement was a highlight as always, helping lift everyone’s mood.

Our Easter raffle and themed games and quizzes were really enjoyed. A big thank you to everyone who donated prizes — it made such a difference. Also a lovely thank you to St Mary’s Church for the Easter eggs.

We also enjoyed a couple trip’s out, which is always something residents look forward to.

Wishing all our residents, families and friends a very Happy Easter 🐣💛
