9 years in business. That feels a bit surreal to even say.
There’s been some incredible highs, the kind where you sit back and think “this is exactly why I did this.” The flexibility, being there for my kids, building something that works around real life rather than the other way round… that part will never be taken for granted.
But there’s also been the tough bits. The pressure that no one really sees. The responsibility of being the one it all falls on. The constant thinking, problem-solving, decision-making… even when you’re meant to be “off.” The moments of doubt, the overwhelm, the figuring it out as you go.
And then there’s the ongoing bits, because it never really stands still. You’re always learning, adapting, wearing about 10 different hats at once. Director, marketer, salesperson, problem solver, leader… none of which come with a manual.
Over the years I’ve learnt some big lessons:
– It’s ok to say no
– Not every client is the right client
– Don’t underprice your work or your experience
– Boundaries aren’t a luxury, they’re a necessity
Running a business isn’t just about what you do, it’s about who you have to become to do it.
And I couldn’t have done any of it without the people around me. The ones who’ve supported me, backed me, recommended me, trusted me and stuck with me through it all – thank you. It never goes unnoticed, and I’m so grateful to have that kind of support behind me.
9 years of growth, challenges, lessons, and a business that’s still evolving. And I wouldn’t have it any other way 🩷
