The advisers at Oakworth finally laced up their boots and took to the pitch for our very first 5-a-side business networking match!

The team battled through age, a general lack of match fitness and varying footballing abilities to have an enjoyable game – losing narrowly to a team from Portland Plumbing & Heating and Asprey Brothers.

I think the aches and strains have just about passed now, so we’re looking to see if any other local businesses would like a game in the future? If you do, just let us know!

This year, we proudly celebrate 30 years in business — a journey that began in September 1995 when Bill Douglas founded Oakworth Financial Planning with a vision: to provide honest, clear, and trusted financial guidance that always put clients first.

Three decades later, that same vision continues to guide us. From those early days with Bill at the helm to the thriving firm we are today, our mission has remained constant: helping individuals, families, and businesses build a secure financial future.

We are deeply grateful to our clients, colleagues, and community for trusting us over the years. Without you, this milestone would not have been possible.

Here’s to honouring our past, celebrating the present, and looking forward to the next 30 years of growth and partnership.

As a little birthday surprise, we’ve included a couple of photos to take you down memory lane.

Making business social!🎄🎅🐮☕🥐

Friday Revival’s Christmas Coffee Morning on the Farm was an overwhelming success, raising crucial funds for The Prince of Wales Hospice and bringing the local community together in the true spirit of the season.

The event saw local businesses, friends, and families come together to celebrate the start of the festive period, generously contributing to help push the total raised for the Hospice to over £5,500 so far.

A heartfelt thank you to Farmer Copleys for being such gracious hosts, offering a beautiful venue and warm hospitality. A special shoutout to Recent Beans for sharing their story and hand-roasted coffee, which was a hit with everyone in attendance. And of course, a massive thank you to all those who attended and supported the event - your generosity made it all possible.

Stay tuned for more exciting Friday Revival gatherings throughout 2025 - we have plenty in the pipeline!
