One of us fired up an incredible brand and the other headed up it’s marketing. Whilst we were there, something dawned on us: we couldn’t tell you who was actually buying our stuff. We realised that we were making huge decisions everyday without a clear quantifiable customer at our core. Quite literally we had whole departments of talented and smart people, spending large amounts of time and capita

l to build incredible things - financial forecasts, top level strategy, products - and no one actually knew who it was for. We wondered whether this was the same for other online businesses, their founders and the people who worked within them - we quickly realised it was. Whilst at it, we also saw that the customer research services out there to help them were not awesome - they were complicated, expensive, resource heavy and felt like robots delivered the work. We’ve also come to realise something else, Customer Research is without question, one of the most important things your business can do - it saves time and money, makes your sales/marketing and products/services more relevant and commercial, put simply - it increases sales. So knowing all this, we put our heads together, bought a kitchen sink and have thrown that and everything else at building the simplest and funnest customer research business on the planet.
