Some stories are simply too lovely not to share.

Back in 2020, Brian Baxter - Humanist Celebrant with the Fuze Foundation had the privilege of marrying Deborah and Jim. Three years later, he married their daughter Alex and her husband Logan.

Recently, Brian returned to celebrate the marriage of another daughter, Stephanie, and her husband Dave. And standing among the guests was yet another sister, Charlotte, whose own wedding Brian will soon be conducting too.

It's a wonderful reminder that ceremonies are about so much more than a single day. They are about relationships, trust, family, and the connections that grow over time.

Thank you to this lovely family for allowing us to be part of so many special moments. ❤️

Read the full story on our blog below.

Celebrant Brian shares a heartwarming story of marrying three members of the same family over several years, highlighting the personal connections that make Humanist ceremonies so special.

💬 Funeral Ceremony Feedback 💬
We are always deeply grateful when families take the time to share their reflections after a funeral ceremony, especially at such a tender and emotional time.

Following a recent service led by Celebrant Jennifer Reid, the family shared how supported and comforted they felt throughout. Jennifer’s compassionate approach and attentive listening helped create a ceremony that honoured their loved one’s life with dignity, care, and respect.

Funeral ceremonies are never easy, but when they are held with kindness and understanding, they can offer a meaningful space for farewell, reflection, and peace. Jennifer guided the family with warmth and reassurance every step of the way.

Thank you, Jennifer, for the care you bring to families when they need it most. 🤍

Faces of the Foundation – Meet Sam

From supporting violence reduction and homelessness initiatives across Scotland, to speaking in Parliament, becoming a later-in-life bride, and now creating unforgettable ceremonies filled with heart, Sam Conroy - Celebrant's journey has been anything but ordinary.

She’s passionate about people, fiercely devoted to her family (and her many four-legged and feathered companions), and believes every ceremony should be unapologetically and unequivocally you.

Sam shares a little about her story, what inspires her, and why helping people celebrate life’s biggest moments means so much.

Take a moment to get to know the person behind the ceremonies.

The loss of a pet can leave a silence in our homes and hearts that is difficult to explain to anyone who hasn’t experienced it.

Our pets are family. They are companions through ordinary days, life changes, celebrations, and difficult moments. Their loss can bring profound grief, yet pet bereavement is something people often feel they need to minimise or “move on” from quickly.

Sam Conroy - Celebrant has written an honest, open, and heartfelt blog reflecting on her own experiences of pet loss, the grief that follows, and why it’s important we recognise and talk about these feelings.

If you have ever loved and lost a furry companion, this piece may resonate with you

After a funeral, the world can suddenly feel very quiet.

While ceremonies mark an important moment of remembrance, grief doesn’t end when the funeral finishes. For many people, that’s when the reality of loss truly begins.

As part of Demystifying Death Week, we want to gently remind people that support is available and that no one has to navigate grief alone.

We’ve created a Support After the Funeral resource page featuring organisations and services that can offer listening support, bereavement guidance, counselling, and help for those struggling after loss.

Whether you are grieving yourself or supporting someone who is, we hope this resource helps people feel a little less alone 💛

As Demystifying Death Week comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has followed, shared, reflected, and most importantly… started conversations.

This week has reminded us that talking about death, grief, funeral wishes, and loss doesn’t have to be frightening or overwhelming.

These conversations are really about people.
About love.
About connection.

About making things a little easier for those we care about.
Over the week we’ve shared practical guidance, reflections, and personal stories, including conversations around funeral planning, talking to children about death, pet loss, and the importance of recording wishes and telling your own story in your own words.

💛 What Do You Want Said About You?
https://fuzeceremonies.co.uk/humanist-ceremonies-blog/what-do-you-want-said-about-you/

We’ve been proud to support Demystifying Death Week alongside Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief and the many organisations helping to encourage more open conversations around dying, loss, and planning ahead.

You can find out more about the campaign here:

Most importantly, we hope this week has shown that no one has to face grief, loss, or funeral planning alone.

There is support.
There are conversations waiting to happen.
And there are people ready to listen when you need them.

💬 Keep the conversations going.
💛 Be gentle with yourself and others.

And never underestimate the comfort that can come from simply talking.

When someone dies, one of the first things families often say is:

“I just hope we’re doing what they would have wanted.”

Because once someone is gone… we can’t ask them.

We can’t ask:

💛 What music they would have chosen
💛 What stories they wanted told
💛 Whether they wanted black or bright colours
💛 A quiet goodbye or a full celebration of life

As part of Demystifying Death Week, we’re encouraging people to think about recording their wishes and telling their own story, not because death is imminent, but because it can be one of the kindest things we do for the people we love.

The best person to tell your story is you!

Our latest blog explores why these conversations matter, how they can bring comfort and reassurance to families, and how our celebrants can help support those conversations with compassion and care.
