I’m delighted to have been awarded the Certificate in Financing Greener Homes.

With the Government setting energy efficient home targets, Lloyds Banking Group sponsored and funded scholarships for 500 people across our industry to do an official qualification. Back in March 2026 I applied and was accepted. 80% of mortgages written are by Mortgage Advisors so it was their mission to spread the knowledge not only on ‘Green Mortgages’ but on all sustainable products out there which help to achieve a more energy efficient home.

The Green Finance Institute delivered a 10 week programme focusing on the forthcoming energy efficiency changes for homeowners, landlords and property developers. The London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF) accredited the qualification.

With lots of changes imminent it feels good to be ahead of the curve.

POV: You become a mortgage broker thinking it’s all deals and completions… but actually it’s 90% waiting 😅

At this point I’m basically a professional refresh-button presser with a side hustle in mortgages 🖱️😂
