In 2017, when Roam launched in Nairobi, there were no electric motorcycles on Kenya's roads. Eight years on, it's building the country's EV future, and thousands of lives have been improved along the way.

This short film, made by Manufacturing Africa, the UK government (FCDO)-funded programme, features Roam's Country Manager Habib Lukaya on how building bikes locally has created jobs, strengthened supply chains, and given investors the confidence to back a homegrown industry as it scales.

And you can be part of it. Investing in the Roam bond puts more electric motorcycles on Kenya's roads, replacing petrol bikes, cutting carbon, and boosting incomes for the riders who depend on them to support their families.

So far: 3,000+ riders have switched to electric, and 3,200 tonnes of CO₂ have been avoided. This bond funds 392 more: a homegrown industry with real momentum behind it. Link in the first comment.

The Ecosafi bond on Energise Africa is about to close, and it's so close to delivering almost 5,000 clean cookstoves to homes across Kenya, at no upfront cost to the families.

For millions of households, cooking still means charcoal indoors: choking smoke, wasted hours, money that's hard to spare. EcoSafi's clean biomass stoves flip that, creating virtually zero smoke, running on fuel far cheaper than charcoal, ~60 hours of cooking time saved a year, and pellets made from agricultural waste rather than felled trees.

There are two days left to invest to help get these stoves into Kenyan kitchens and target an 8% return. Check out their profile on our website. Link in bio.

Kenya has never lacked talent or ambition, but it needs more opportunities to build growth, and Roam is creating them.

Every .electric electric motorcycle is designed, engineered and manufactured in Kenya, by Kenyan people, for Kenyan roads. That means skilled jobs, empowered local suppliers, and a homegrown manufacturing sector proving that clean transport doesn't have to be imported.

To date, Energise Africa investors have already helped put 2,616 Roam bikes on the road. That's 2,600+ riders and entrepreneurs spending less, earning more, and cutting thousands of tonnes of carbon between them, just as the climate emergency makes this growth more urgent than ever.

And it's also delivering for investors: Roam has already returned £2,455,000 to Energise Africa investors to date.

Their latest bond offer is open on Energise Africa; take a look and find an opportunity to invest in a Kenyan success story.

Millions of families in Kenya still cook over charcoal. It's costly, deadly and driving deforestation.

Ecosafi, the Better Cooking Company's clean cookstove, is changing that, and the waiting list of families who want one keeps growing.

Last week, EcoSafi's Jordyan Woodley and Brenda Katasi sat down with Energise Africa CEO Ray Coyle to talk through the real impact these stoves are having: healthier homes, lower bills, fewer trees lost, and new local jobs.

Their first bond is already funding stoves on the ground. A second offer is now open to help reach more homes that are ready to switch from charcoal for cooking.

Watch the clips and explore the offer on our website.

Watch Tirmidhi Abdullahi explain what clean energy access will mean for his rice business in Warji, Bauchi State.

Tirmidhi is one of 67,216 people in rural Nigeria set to gain access to reliable, clean solar power through Maskh's green mini-grid programme. No more diesel or kerosene generators, just affordable, sustainable energy that powers businesses, lights homes, and transforms communities.

The Maskh 8% bond is now open on Energise Africa. Bond repayment is backed by a Results-Based Financing grant from Nigeria's Rural Electrification Authority, so it’s linked to verified project delivery rather than commercial performance.

This is impact investing you can see in action.

"There are a lot of people like me, waiting on this light."

Sumaila Mohammed lives in Baima, a village in Bauchi State, Nigeria, where the grid went down seven or eight years ago. Since then, he has had a stolen generator, locally made torchlights, and a long wait for power to come back.

Baima is one of 19 villages where Maskh, an experienced Nigerian mini-grid operator, is building new solar mini-grids, funded in part through their current bond offer on Energise Africa.

Watch Sumaila's story.

Maskh already operates 14 live sites serving 3,000+ customers, at £252 per connection versus a sector average of £764. The new bond looks to raise £600,000 to reach almost 67,000 more people across Bauchi and Jigawa states.
