The Renters’ Rights Act is now in force in England, bringing major changes for landlords and tenants.
Described as the biggest shake-up to renting in more than 30 years, the new rules include:
✅ No more fixed-term tenancies
✅ The end of “no-fault” evictions
✅ Rent increases limited to once per year
✅ Two months’ notice required for rent increases
✅ Stronger rights for tenants with children or pets
✅ New obligations and processes for landlords
For landlords, this is a good moment to review your responsibilities, tenancy arrangements and property protection.
With eviction rules changing, notice periods increasing and legal processes becoming more structured, having the right landlord insurance in place is more important than ever.
At Routen Chaplin, we help landlords protect their rental properties with insurance tailored to their needs, including cover options for buildings, contents, liability and loss of rent.
If you’re a landlord and want to make sure your cover still suits your situation, speak to our friendly team today.
